Role Overview:. As a Sr. Backend Engineer specializing in integrations, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable integration solutions to connect our software applications with external systems such as FHIR/HL7, Salesforce, SHIN-NY, and other third-party APIs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data exchange, streamline business processes, and enhance overall system interoperability.. Responsibilities:. Design and implement API integrations with FHIR/HL7 standards to facilitate seamless data exchange between healthcare systems.. Develop and maintain integrations with Salesforce, including batch integrations, event-driven integrations, and CDC frameworks.. Implement batch-integration to synchronize data between systems on a scheduled basis.. Create and manage APIs for interacting with external systems, ensuring secure and efficient communication.. Develop and maintain endpoints for handling inbound data, such as bulk user profile updates, referral information, and survey responses.. Configure and manage Google Cloud Healthcare API for storing and accessing FHIR resources, including patient data, observations, and care plans.. Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using API gateways to ensure secure access to integrated systems.. Design and develop services for parsing, validating, processing, and storing incoming FHIR resources with error handling and logging mechanisms.. Configure export configurations and destination endpoints for sending data to external systems.. Develop ETL processes and data mapping strategies for integrating and synchronizing data between internal and external systems.. Implement validation of contact information using external services like Twilio for data enrichment and accuracy.. Set up audit tables and logging mechanisms to track and monitor data changes and system interactions.. Requirements and Skills:. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in backend development and integrations.. Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining API integrations with external systems, particularly in healthcare and Salesforce environments.. Knowledge of Java and Node.js technology stacks.. Proficiency in FHIR/HL7 standards, Salesforce integration strategies, and CDC frameworks.. Experience with batch processing, event-driven architecture, and data synchronization mechanisms.. Strong knowledge of API development, authentication, authorization, and security best practices.. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and AWS for hosting and managing integration solutions.. Hands-on experience with database systems, encryption techniques, and data validation methods.. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.. Effective communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.. Experience with event streaming, messaging queues, and pub/sub architectures is a plus.
