The IBMi Administrator will provide 2. nd. and 3. rd. level support to customers and client personnel as part of the services covered by services and software support contracts; . provide assistance. in the use of OS400 and virtualisation technology throughout the organisation; and ongoing support for the Sales and Services teams..  . Here’s what this position is all about:. Own & manage OS400 2. nd. level and 3. rd. level technical support issues through to successful completion..  . Own & manage customer transitions activities to a defined process and to successful completion..  . Attend customer meetings and provide OS400 technical solutions to deliver contracted services.  . Creation of high level solution designs..  . Ongoing support for Client Services Team in delivering contracted services..  . Provide. . assistance and support to customers and client personnel as part of the services covered by contracted services and Software support contracts..  . Provide assistance to internal and external personnel in the use of OS400 and virtualisation technology throughout the organisation as directed by the IBMi Technical Lead..  . Provide assistance to internal sales staff in pre and post sales activities as it relates to the provision of OS400 support services..  . Provide iSeries Professional services to customers when required..  . Maintain currency with OS400 enhancements and emerging technologies..  . Assist with performing Disaster Recovery testing or full invocation for customers when required..  . Resolving support calls and attending customer sites as appropriate..  . Provide 2. nd. and 3. rd. level support to all contracted services customers..  . Ensure the implementation of best practice and compliance with internal procedures, routines and protocol including security, safety and regulatory..  . High Availability customer consultation, Installation, Setup and configuration for Quick/edd & Mimix software applications.  . Ensure change control process is followed for all changes to customer systems..  . Attend customer sites when required in pre-sales OS400 technical environment with the ability to demonstrate OS400 knowledge to the customer.  . Ensure OS400 knowledge is communicated throughout the team to improve all round knowledge of team and other contracted services customers..  . Assist/train operational staff with any OS400 questions raised..  . Undertake any training courses as discussed and agreed in order to ensure up to date knowledge for OS400 platform.  . Ability to automate iSeries systems with Systems Management software..  . Attend any seminars or presentations that will assist with OS400 daily role in improving the efficiency of the IBMi  team..  . Assist and work with Service Delivery Managers to provide OS400 technical knowledge to customers when required..  . Provide out of hours on call support for OS400 support for contracted services & software support 24/7 on a rota basis..  . Liaise and work with iSeries hardware engineers for guidance on hardware..  . Undertake other related tasks as requested by the iSeries Technical Lead..  .  . What we are hoping you can bring to the Service Express team.... Proven experience in OS400 technical skills - V5R3, V5R4, V6R1, V7R1, V7R2, V7R3, V7R4.  . Knowledge of High Availability (Mimix, iCluster & Quick/EDD).  . Systems Management Software/iSeries configuration & Automation skills.  . Knowledge of Power systems hardware.  . Knowledge of external storage/SAN integration knowledge to the Power systems.  . iSeries Capacity Planning skills.  . High level of CL Programming skills.  . Excellent IBMi Performance Analysis Skills (iDoctor DBMON desirable).  . High level of IBMi security knowledge.  . Exceptional  knowledge  of LPAR & HMC .  . IBMi LPAR System builds using native O/S commands and BRMS.  . Good knowledge of OS400 backup software applications including BRMS.  . OS400 troubleshooting skills including O/S upgrades & PTF management.  . Maintain current market knowledge for iSeries platform.  . Good knowledge and experienced in the use of standard MS Office applications.  . Ability to produce technical documents & procedures to a high standard.  . IBM certifications desirable. We Offer:.
