About the role . . As the first Data Scientist at TrustedHousesitters, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's data strategy and analytics capabilities. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and CRM to uncover insights, develop predictive models and implement solutions that improve our users’ experiences. This is a unique opportunity to build a data science function from the ground up and make a tangible impact on our growth trajectory.. . Responsibilities. Collaborate with engineering to establish scalable data pipelines and storage solutions. . Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility across the organisation. . Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. . Design and implement dashboards, reports, and visualisations for key stakeholders. . Build predictive and prescriptive models to support business functions such as customer segmentation and recommendation systems. . Deploy and monitor models in production environments, ensuring reliability and effectiveness. . Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organisation. . Define and implement best practices for data science workflows and methodologies. . Mentor and guide future data science hires as the team grows. Requirements. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. . 5+ years of experience in a data science role, B2C, ideally in a high-growth environment. . Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar programming language for data analysis and model building. . Having expertise in SQL and working with relational databases. . Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Looker). . Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data intelligence platforms like Databricks. . Proven ability to frame business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions. . Strong statistical knowledge and experience with machine learning techniques. . Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders. . Self-starter with a passion for building systems and solving problems
