To do this we are building accessible tools to help makers generate income from their work. The tools we build are software and hardware products designed to help businesses do their own manufacturing cost effectively. Our revolutionary, web-based Easel software is easy to use, whether you are new to designing products or familiar with CNC software. When you’re ready to carve, our X-Carve and X-Carve Pro machines empower users to create products out of a variety of materials ranging from beautiful hardwoods to colorful acrylics.

Please note, all positions at Inventables are remote moving forward. If you live in the Chicago area you will have access to our downtown workshop. 

Why We Need You

The Senior Product Marketing Manager will lead the strategy, development, and implementation of Inventables content marketing. You’ll play a critical role in developing and executing growth and marketing strategies to help our team accomplish their goals. Your work will help translate business strategy into consistent, timely, and relevant messaging to our audiences in a tone that makes sense to them. 

What’s the bottom line? You will translate business strategy into rich content (e.g. websites, copy, images, videos) that helps drive product growth and reduce churn.

You will likely be most excited about the role you’ll play in bringing manufacturing capability into the hands of millions of people. 

Here’s what you’ll be doing 

  • Develop and continuously update buyer personas by product line
  • Identify who our target customers are, their pain points, and how to best position our offerings to maximize sales growth
  • Perform on-going qualitative and quantitative studies on our customers
  • Execute our product marketing strategies with measurable, sales-generating content across the customer lifecycle journey
    • Acquisition - driving prospects to inventables.com 
    • Conversion - converting prospect into customers
    • Adoption - getting customers to adopt Easel Pro and use it on a daily basis
    • Retention - increasingEasel Pro renewals
    • Growth - cross-selling / up-selling existing customers to other offerings
  • Lead the development and execution of content, including digital, photo shoots, video shoots, and print materials 
  • Lead the development and execution of branding standards across our products
  • Write technical content on CAD/CAM and CNC manufacturing
  • Track marketing program performance and optimize through continuous testing
  • Keep track of our competitors and drive ongoing differentiation
  • Work closely with the Director of Growth to support cross-functional initiatives

You need these qualifications

  • Professional experience in a product marketing position, or related marketing role
  • Current domain experience within the desktop CNC digital manufacturing space or community 
  • A natural storyteller with great design sense
  • Experience creating content via email, video, in-product, content marketing, or other channels
  • Comfortable in a face-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
  • Genuine interest and curiosity in helping small businesses succeed
  • Ability to write technical copy about the digital manufacturing space 
  • Experience developing and executing marketing programs 
  • An understanding of the customer lifecycle journey: Acquisition, Conversion, Adoption, Retention, Growth
  • Passionate about our vision to ignite a new product revolution by bringing manufacturing capability into the hands of millions of people and excited about our mission to build accessible tools to help all makers generate income from their work

It would be nice if you have…

  • Experience with Inventables products
  • Experience working on a SaaS product, or in a SaaS centric company
  • An understanding of product-led growth marketing
  • Experience managing or working with creative teams and agencies 
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative customer research and translating data into actionable insights
