The Automattic for Agencies Sales Engineer is responsible for driving growth by converting prospects into loyal agency customers, supporting agencies with our tools, and helping them understand the value of the program. This position focuses on providing agencies with packaged solutions for hosting (WordPress.com and Pressable) and other site building/management needs. Sales Engineers will use a consultative, "demand-side" sales approach to engage with new and existing accounts, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and how our products can meet them. . Typical tasks for Sales Engineers include:. Working with both inbound and outbound leads.. Properly researching and cataloging contact, account, and opportunity information.. Expanding relationships with prospects and current agencies, allowing them to understand the full advantages of our products and solutions.. Working with Sales Development Reps, Partner Wranglers, Engineers, Product Management, and other teams focused on the sales cycle to ensure that both the client’s and Company’s requirements are met.. Using effective sales techniques to uncover customer needs that can be addressed through our solutions.. Articulating the benefits of using our solutions to prospective agencies across industries.. Onboarding new agencies and troubleshooting the onboarding process.. Providing initial education and training for small, to medium, agencies.. Preparing a quality handoff for large agencies to a Partner Manager to enable long-term success.. Achieving or exceeding identified goals (quotas, onboarding, and customer satisfaction).. Demonstrated success in converting both inbound and outbound leads/prospects, and effective management of the sales cycle to meet or exceed goals.. Strong technical experience in understanding integrated technical systems and troubleshooting technical issues.. Proven experience in developing a successful customer relationship that results in high lifetime value (LTV).. High empathy and an ability to easily navigate challenging customer interactions.. Proven ability to navigate longer high potential sales cycles.. Experience in business development, with a track record of building and expanding customer relationships..
