AllTrails is seeking a consultant (independent contractor) and subject matter expert of Swiss culture, language and geography, to provide translation and location-specific professional services to help expand our product offerings to multiple regions.  . Providing language translation services based on your bi-lingual or multilingual fluency. . Performing terminology research to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all translations to ensure quality and accuracy. . Utilizing your mastery of local geography and cultural knowledge to advise, create and or modify trail data and platform content.. Serving as the subject matter expert of events, conditions, or other information that impacts company operations or customer experience in your supported area.. Consulting with business partners as requested on improvements, feedback, and escalations from local users.. Using your own independent research, analyze and incorporate marketing and demand trends into deliverables. . Supporting other data integrity initiatives to ensure the ongoing accuracy of our trail data in accordance with AllTrails’ standards.  . Contractor Requirements:. Fluent in English and German, French and/or Italian. Experience living and hiking in Switzerland. Mapping/GIS experience preferred but not required . 3+ years in a consulting role or equivalent work experience . Reliable connectivity/equipment + availability (~1X weekly) for video-calls/meetings as needed  . Demonstrated ability to keep client projects on plan and meet deliverables/deadlines. Strong interpersonal writing and editing skills. Strong communication, organization, innovation, and collaboration skills. Hardware Requirements:. You will need a reliable internet connection and computer hardware that meets the company’s IT security standards - (the company will require you to install a read-only OSQuery to ensure hard-drive encryption and antivirus software are enabled before accessing our network, compatible with MacOS 11 or Windows 10 + 64-bit or higher only)(AllTrails does not reimburse for any systems upgrades).
