Electrical Designer Koch Industries. Your Job. Georgia Pacific has an immediate opening for an Electrical Designer - to join our Gypsum regional Electrical/Controls Engineering group. As part of our multi-disciplined engineering team, the Electrical Designer is responsible for creating electrical/instrumentation design packages for site projects from concept to completion. As part of the regional electrical and controls engineering group based out of Atlanta, we are at the forefront of ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our Gypsum manufacturing processes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, we leverage our expertise to maintain and enhance electrical systems, controls, and automation. Committed to delivering innovative solutions and strong troubleshooting skills to the continued success of our Gypsum business.. What You Will Do. . Provide engineering designs in support of various projects for the Gypsum division such as detailed drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC and drive panels, equipment layouts, panel schedules, cable schedules, plan drawings and block diagrams), P&IDs, equipment specifications, BOMS (Bill of Materials) and SOW (Scope of Work) documents.. . Provide electrical support to all phases of project execution from front end scoping through completion, including estimation, engineering, construction, commissioning, and ongoing reliability and support to operations.. . Provide field support when necessary and attend equipment FAT's when needed.. . Review vendor documentation and verify compliance with the project requirements and implementation into project design.. . Assist with developing, maintaining consistency, and improving department standards and processes.. . The ability to work independently and/or within a team of designers, on multiple projects simultaneously.. . The ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other consultants.. . . Who You Are (Basic Qualifications). . . Past experience being a SME directly related with detailed design of electrical systems. . . Technologist OR bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation or automation/controls. . . Computer-aided design experience (proficient in relevant CAD software and Document management software). . . Experience converting conceptual designs into final design documents (academic or professional experience would apply. . . What Will Put You Ahead. . . Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study. . . Project Management experience. . . Practical field/construction experience. . . Working knowledge of implementing and adhering to national codes and standards such as ANSI, API, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA 70E, PIP, etc. . . . For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000 - $105,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
