The Details:. You are an experienced designer with a full understanding of the design craft, including typography, color, layout, etc.. You are able to design, own and lead complex projects. You can work on all stages of design, from ideation on a new brand to execution of finalized assets. You are able to give art direction to more junior members of the team. You think about the future with your designs, and have a clear sense of scalability and ability to design systems. You are able to present work to stakeholders, take feedback and defend your ideas. We are a remote team, so you are organized and communicative. We’re a small team working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You show initiative and flexibility to help our team work smarter.. Everything you do is designed to the highest standard, both in concept and execution. Requirements:. 4-6 years design experience at an agency or in-house. A strong portfolio showing brand design (both applying existing branding and creating new brands from scratch). Proficient in design software (Adobe creative suite, Figma, etc). The ability to design new brand systems thinking of scalability (application to different types of media and touch points, ease of use by other designers or external agencies, how it might grow the following year, etc). Experience self-managing complex projects with some degree of ambiguity. Comfortable presenting work to different stakeholders (from teammates to leadership). A clear sense of design work process, from briefing to execution. Nice-to-haves:. Ideate, iterate and refine new brands and visual identity systems that live within the larger Axios brand. Design within existing brand systems, evolving and refining them when necessary. Think of the Axios brand holistically, identifying and flagging when something feels off. Update and contribute to our brand guidelines. Self-manage your projects, navigating ambiguity, communicating with stakeholders, respecting deadlines. Collaborate with other team members and on occasion provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members. Update information and landing pages on Webflow. Starting salary for this role is in the range of $100,000 - $120,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location..
