Senior Mobile Engineer, Driver Experience set up in 2018 with a simple aim -  to make electric vehicle charging simpler, greener, and cheaper for everyone. Drivers download our app and charge their vehicle overnight; and, in the background, we’re ingesting real-time data and using our proprietary smart-charging algorithm to align charging sessions with energy from renewable sources. This reduces carbon emissions caused by EV charging by as much as 70%.. This is a growing industry, with growing demand for our solution - a third of new cars by 2030 will be electric. Simultaneously, there’s increasing strain on the power grid (power outages have already jumped by 64% in the last decade in the USA). We are already working with over 30 utilities in the US, Canada and Europe, offering a way to reduce demand on the grid. . To achieve this we’ve brought together a team of over 100 people, bringing expertise from previous roles at National Grid, Tesla, Amazon, Arcadia, and Chargepoint; we’ve secured over 50m USD from leading VCs in the automotive and energy space including National Grid Partners, WEX Venture Capital, Energy Impact Partners and JLR’s InMotion Ventures. Come help us drive change for the better. . The role. We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to join our Driver Experience team. The ideal candidate is fluent in React Native, and has numerous years of experience developing mobile applications. In this role you will help us develop the core onboarding and growth experience for our mobile app. You will also be participating in the technical direction of our app to ensure its scalability, reliability, and performance. It's a group effort to build an excellent product, so it's important that you are a team player with strong communication skills.. What will you be doing?. Enhancing the usability of the . mobile app by building features that provide a truly delightful experience for an EV driver, using React Native and TypeScript. Collaborating with product managers to implement strategies that drive user engagement. Working proactively alongside your teammates, identifying problems before they become blockers and participating in creating solutions. What are we looking for?. Numerous years of experience developing customer-facing React Native apps for iOS and Android. Fluency in React Native and TypeScript, with some experience in React. Experience with React Navigation, Redux, and React Query. Experience working with RESTful APIs. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfort working with a distributed team in a fast-paced startup environment. Attentiveness to design details. Care for the product - you'll either be interested in EVs or excited about having a positive impact on the environment. How will we support you?.
