Senior Value Engineer - FinOps & Spend Analytics Snowflake. Are you passionate about blending business consulting with advanced analytics? We’re seeking a Senior Value Engineer to join our FinOps & Spend Analytics team at Snowflake. You’ll collaborate with account teams and engage directly with customers to optimize their use of Snowflake’s cloud platform.. The ideal candidate brings:. Analytical Skills. : Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python to deliver actionable insights.. Technical Architecture Understanding. : Familiarity with cloud-based systems, ideally Snowflake, to understand and communicate technical aspects in addition to financial optimizations.. Consulting or Sales Experience. : Background in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), business/IT consulting, or consultative sales to engage and drive customer value.. Experience in FP&A and business consulting paired with strong analytical and technical skills, will be key to success in this role.. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:. Consultative Engagements. : Partner with account teams and customers to frame and address complex business challenges through data-driven insights, focusing on cost optimization, performance enhancement, and ROI maximization.. Advanced Data Analysis:. Analyze customer consumption data on Snowflake to provide actionable insights that attribute, control, and optimize spend across various business units, workloads, and use cases.. Cloud Economics & FinOps. : Develop and refine cloud unit economics models, define KPIs, and support cost, usage, and performance benchmarks tailored to specific customer needs.. Strategic ROI Modeling:. Build and maintain sophisticated ROI and economic models to support customer budgeting, forecasting, and the rollout of new Snowflake features.. Data Storytelling:. Translate complex data insights into compelling narratives that influence strategic decisions, catering to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.. QUALIFICATIONS:. Education. : A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications in analytics or business management (e.g., MBA) are advantageous.. Work Experience:. 6-10 years of relevant working experience, including 4+ years focused in data analytics, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), business consulting, or cloud data warehousing.. Business Consulting/FP&A Expertise. : A strong background in business consulting or FP&A, with a proven ability to solve complex business problems using data and analytics. . Technical Proficiency:. Advanced skills in SQL and Excel for data analysis and reporting – familiarity with Python and Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms will be an advantage.. Cloud Technology Acumen. : A solid understanding of cloud technology architectures, particularly in data warehousing, and experience in cloud economics or FinOps will be a plus..
