Product Engineering Specialist - Medium Voltage SMA America. Our Service team is looking for a Product Engineering Specialist - Medium Voltage. The Product Engineering Specialist Medium Voltage serves as a specialist for post sales Service activities with customers regarding SMA Medium Voltage equipment such as pad mounted transformers and switchgears.. PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES. Supports system connections, special testing of SMA equipment at sites using advanced test equipment.. Mentors and supports the Large Scale/ Utility service organization in North America.. Serves as the technical specialist for SMA Medium Voltage equipment (Transformers, Switchgears and Platforms). Provide high level technical support to SMA Field Service Staff and Contractors working/testing MV Equipment.. Serves as a liaison between the US Service, Engineering Services and other technical support teams in the US and Germany.. Creates processes and work instructions as needed to improve Service Operations.. Develops processes and work instructions in collaboration with Engineering Services to aid troubleshooting problems in the field, as well as analyzing current customer technical requirements.. Develops and implements a strategy for extensive customer support by understanding the customer’s Hardware and Software interfacing with the SMA equipment.. Interfacing with customers on advanced technical questions on SMA equipment in association with the their equipment.. Gathers and prioritizes customer’s technical requirements, provides suitable interpretation to management, training department, and engineering staff for future improvement of SMA’s products.. Interprets and evaluates customer concerns regarding installation problems or site wide plant level issues that can harm personnel or damage SMA equipment.. Attends industry conferences and trade shows, as necessary.. Other duties as may be required or assigned.. REQUIRED TRAINING (TYPE / DURATION / FIELD / ADDITIONAL TRAINING). A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.. REQUIRED RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (TYPE / DURATION). 5-7 years of experience working with Medium or High Voltage equipment is required.. 5-7 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, service engineering or R&D is preferred.. Experience in renewable energy is preferred.. Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience is preferred.. OTHER SPECIALIZED SKILLS. Knowledge of solar electric (PV) installation, system design and/or inspection is preferred.. Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. German/Spanish language skills are a plus.. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is strongly preferred.. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required.. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required.. Excellent organizational skills are required.. Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.. This position may require periodic domestic and international travel.. ADDITIONAL DETAILS.  Salary Range: $104,000-134,000.
