
Manager - People Safety and Security GitLab. Location Information: . An overview of this role. The Manager, People Safety and Security will lead GitLab's global people safety and security programs as part of our People Strategy team, ensuring the protection and wellbeing of our all-remote workforce worldwide. This role is responsible for developing and managing comprehensive safety and security programs that align with GitLab's unique all-remote culture and global presence.. What You’ll Do. . People Safety and Security Policy Management. Lead the development and implementation of GitLab's People Safety and Security Policy, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) laws and regulations. Partner with the Corporate Events team to ensure proper safety and security protocols for company events like Summit and Presidents Club. Coordinate onsite security support for large gatherings as needed. Oversee the GitLab Emergency Action and Incident Response Plan in partnership with Security division. Manage Everbridge platform for employee notifications. Manage the Safety Checks program, coordinating with the People team to verify team member safety during emergencies. Develop and maintain emergency procedures for various scenarios (i.e. work-from-home emergencies, travel emergencies). Partner with managers to provide guidance and resources during emergency situations. Travel Safety and Security Programs. Oversee the International SOS (ISOS) program implementation and usage. Partner with Benefits team on the administration of the Business Travel Accident Insurance Program and management of GitLab's Duty of Care program for business travelers. GitLab Cares / Workplace Safety Program Management. Oversee the Team Member Disaster Relief Program in partnership with E4E Relief. Monitor program metrics and effectiveness. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure proper program administration. Oversee the remote workplace ergonomic assessment program. Manage the process for team member ergonomic evaluation requests. Implement recommendations for workplace safety improvements. What You’ll Bring . Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Security Management, or related field or equivalent experience in similar roles. 7+ years of experience in managing global safety and security programs. Demonstrated experience with emergency response planning and crisis management. Experience with safety and security information management systems. Experience managing global emergency response programs. Strong understanding of international EH&S regulations and compliance requirements. Excellence in program development and implementation. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment. How GitLab will support you.
