SUMMARY: The Data Governance Architect serves as the primary link between business stakeholders and technical data solutions, leading the design and implementation of scalable governance architectures to support responsible and effective data practices at Stride. This role combines hands-on administration of core governance platforms such as OneTrust and Alation with the development of metadata models, data classification frameworks, and governance process flows. . The Data Governance Architect is responsible for integrating governance tools, enforcing data policies, and automating key processes to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable data management. The ideal candidate will architect and implement governance solutions that operate seamlessly across the enterprise data ecosystem, enabling consistent and trusted access to information. . Design and implement scalable data governance architectures, translating business data needs into actionable solution requirements. . Consult on product and platform development through design, development, and release phases to ensure solutions meet data governance standards. . Administer and configure data governance platforms such as OneTrust and Alation, including user management, scanning schedules, and metadata workflows. . Define and apply data classification policies using tools such as Microsoft Purview and Snowflake, supporting regulatory compliance and access control. . Build and maintain technical process flows for governance operations such as data onboarding, change management, data quality monitoring, and issue resolution. . Collaborate with data engineering, security, and platform teams to embed governance standards into data . pipelines. and data access layers. . Implement technical workflows to support data governance operations (e.g., data quality checks, issue management, metadata approval). . Ensure data governance controls are technically enforced within analytic and storage environments. . Monitor the effectiveness of governance policies and controls and drive continuous improvement of governance processes. . Maintain documentation and develop internal runbooks for governance tool operations and troubleshooting. . This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. . MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: . Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience working with data including data architecture, data management, data modeling, and analytics/BI. . Experience working with, designing, and/or developing data solutions across database types (relational, unstructured, graph) in cloud and on-prem environments. . Hands-on experience administering tools such as OneTrust, Alation, Microsoft Purview, and MonteCarlo. . Deep understanding of data governance and management practices, including metadata management, data classification, data lineage, and data contracts/sharing agreements. . Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes and technical designs into clear and actionable data requirements. . Demonstrated project management planning and organization skills. . Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), able to target content to fit the audience, both technical and non-technical. . Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. . Ability to clear required background check. . CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: None required. . DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: . Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Library Science or a related field, or equivalent training. . Experience designing enterprise data governance architectures and integrating tools across large ecosystems. . Knowledge of API integrations, scripting, or automation tools to support governance workflows. . Exposure to data security, role-based access controls, and identity integration for data platforms. . Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA, COPPA, CCPA) . Experience in K-12 education as a teacher, researcher, or data personnel.. Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s . salary. level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.. We anticipate the salary range to be $66,379.50- $170,037.60. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus.
