We are seeking a visionary Data Science Director of Product to lead our data science initiatives and drive the development of cutting-edge products in the healthcare industry. . This role demands a unique blend of leadership in product strategy, an understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, deep experience leading teams, and a grounding in data science principles and analytics. . Responsibilities: . Strategic Leadership in AI-focused Product Development: Lead the strategic vision for embedding innovative data science solutions within our product offerings in healthcare revenue cycle, reporting into R1’s VP of Data Science. Balance technical expertise with a keen eye for improving the business, finding product opportunities, market trends, and prioritizing the highest impact projects. . Team and Project Management: Oversee a team of data science product managers, nurturing a high-performance culture of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation. Prioritize and manage multiple projects to efficiently allocate resources and ensure alignment with R1’s business strategy and data science team’s goals. . Stakeholder Engagement and Influence: Act as a bridge between data science and Senior leadership across the business. Use exceptional communication skills to translate complex data concepts into actionable business strategies, influence decision-making, and promote product adoption across the organization. . Innovative Analytics and Product Insights: Leverage data to make informed decisions about solution feasibility, model improvements, product innovation and efficiency. Use data to tell compelling data science product stories. . Cross-functional Problem-Solving: Identify pain points and obstacles in current product offerings, then synthesize into innovative solutions to complex challenges. Recognize opportunities to scale data science solutions and products across the business. . Healthcare Industry Expertise: Deeply understand healthcare revenue cycle processes and regulations. Use this knowledge to guide product development, translate business challenges for our data scientists, and ensure compliance and relevance in our solutions. . Required Qualifications: . Experience: 10+ years total business experience including working in product or leading innovative teams. . Healthcare Experience: 3+ years of experience working in healthcare revenue cycle. . Technical Experience: 3+ years working in data science or analytics, with at minimum an understanding of core data science principles. Ability to visualize data and model results utilizing a modern BI tool (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.). . Leadership: Strong leadership, presentation, and reporting skills coupled with a track record of managing high-performing teams and complex projects. Excellent mentoring capabilities. . Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a keen eye for details. Capable of engaging and influencing various stakeholders. . Business Acumen: Robust understanding of business financials (e.g., P&L budgets) and metrics (e.g., OKRS) with the ability to align data science initiatives with business objectives.. . For this US-based position, the base pay range is $109,118.00 - $187,269.24 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.. This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 20.00%.
