ABOUT YOU:. We’re searching for a forward-thinking, collaborative, and analytical BI Engineer to join our team. As part of the Enterprise Analytics team, BI Engineers are responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of the BI platform implementation, semantic modeling, reporting, and dashboarding capabilities. This professional will work in collaboration with the appropriate data engineers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, test, and support enterprise-level BI solutions. . The ideal candidate will have:. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills working with a variety of data sets, including big data generated through clickstream. Experience enabling business intelligence capabilities across multiple lines of business. Knowledge and experience in various reporting platforms and their advanced functionality. Strong knowledge in design and implementation of reporting models and data marts. Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as a part of larger cross-functional teams. The ability to take on complex tasks and work towards being a subject matter expert in a business or data domain. The ability to implement solutions to complex problems from start to finish with minimal direction/oversight and demonstrate ownership through the entire life of projects. The ability to understand the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product needs and drive solutions that take each of these into account . Required Skills:. Actively participate in team discussions, provide routine guidance and feedback, and lead by example. Demonstrate strong knowledge in design and implementation of reporting models and data marts. Maintain a solid understanding of relational DB and DW concepts, best practices and data modeling design. Define project priorities and scope with minimal direction. Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting the team. Collaborate on team values and procedure improvement . Build complex queries on large data sets and performance tune as needed. Translate business needs into data visualizations. Collaborate with data platform teams. Foster self-service analytic environment by providing domain and tool expertise. Perform root cause analysis on reporting and data issues. Self-motivate, set goals, prioritize and meet deadlines. Partner with internal and external peer groups to design and implement solutions. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Create clear and detailed technical documentation. Required Experience:. 5+ years of experience in complex SQL programming. Professional experience with data visualization tools; such as Tableau or PowerBI. Ability to work with large databases in Cloud environments. Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and technologies. Ability to communicate with internal and external teams both verbally and written. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field. Prior experience with enterprise data governance initiatives, including implementing enterprise level tools and processes is a plus.
