The Principal Cloud Database Architect will serve as the primary guardian of our mission-critical database systems supporting global operations across 60 countries. This role combines deep Oracle expertise with proficiency in modern cloud database technologies including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AWS serverless architectures. The CDA will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of existing Oracle environments while actively supporting our cloud transformation initiative through expertise in AWS database services and serverless computing. This position requires exceptional troubleshooting skills across multiple database platforms and the ability to optimize complex queries and database structures that support our global business operations. . Manage and optimize Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL database systems supporting mission-critical applications . Perform advanced database tuning across multiple platforms, including query optimization, index management, and performance monitoring . Develop, maintain, and optimize complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, and packages, as well as stored procedures in PostgreSQL and MySQL . Design and implement serverless database architectures using AWS Lambda and managed database services . Collaborate with the engineering teams on database architecture decisions for migration to AWS . Implement database security best practices and ensure compliance with global data protection requirements across all platforms . Design and execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for multi-platform environments . Monitor database performance across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL environments and proactively identify optimization opportunities . Support legacy system maintenance while leading cloud database migration initiatives . Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical database issues across all platforms . Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation and procedures for multi-database environments . What We’re Looking For . Technical Requirements: . Expert-level Oracle database administration experience (11g, 12c, 19c, 21c) . Advanced PL/SQL development and optimization skills . Deep expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including execution plan analysis and query optimization . Proven ability to re-architect monolithic database schemas into distributed data models aligned with microservices. . Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB database administration and optimization . Experience with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB) and serverless database architectures . Knowledge of AWS Lambda, serverless computing, and event-driven database architectures . Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager, AWR reports, and performance monitoring tools . Experience with database security, backup/recovery, and high availability solutions across multiple platforms . Knowledge of Oracle partitioning, indexing strategies, and storage optimization . Experience with cloud database migration strategies and multi-database environments . Experience with database replication, data integration, and . ETL. processes . Understanding of database design principles and data modeling across SQL and NoSQL platforms . Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate or similar replication technologies a plus . Leadership & Soft Skills:. . Qualifications:. . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field . 5+ years of database administration experience with Oracle as primary focus . Additional experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL administration . AWS database services experience (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB) and serverless architecture knowledge . Experience with large-scale, mission-critical database environments across multiple platforms . Background supporting global, distributed systems preferred . Critical Success Factors:. .
