The next phase of growth focuses on building robust data . pipelines. — ingesting supplier catalogs, updating stock and pricing in real time, and automating order workflows. In this role, you will lead the development and maintenance of these integrations end-to-end.. . . Responsibilities. . . Supplier Integrations: Design, build, and manage data pipelines using EDI (X12/EDIFACT), headless browser scraping, and non-public REST/GraphQL endpoints. . Catalog Automation: Normalize packs, units, and SKUs across suppliers in Postgres; automate daily updates using cost-efficient polling strategies. . Order Workflows: Automate purchase order submissions, track acknowledgments/ship notices, and integrate real-time status updates into the app. . EDI Go-Live Support: Work with leadership and supplier IT teams to test, validate, and launch EDI connections with new distributors. . Internal Tools: Build and maintain dashboards/APIs for catalog moderation, supplier onboarding, order exception handling, and role management. . Access & Auditing: Implement RBAC and audit logs to trace changes in prices, orders, or SKUs. . Reliability & DevOps: Own Docker-based CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code using AWS (Amplify, Lambda, EventBridge); implement monitoring, retries, and alerts. . Autonomous Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend teams (React/Xano) on data contracts while delivering backend solutions independently. . AI-Powered Development: Use tools like ChatGPT or Copilot to accelerate code, testing, and documentation. . . . Qualifications. . . 3–5 years building production backend services at a startup or scale-up. . CS degree or equivalent knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and networking. . Hands-on experience with EDI (X12 850/810/855, EDIFACT ORDRSP/INVOIC) or expertise in reverse-engineering undocumented APIs/scraping. . Proficiency in Python (preferred); Node.js/TypeScript a plus. . Strong SQL and Postgres schema design skills; able to work with Xano data. . Experience with Docker and AWS (Amplify, Lambda, S3, EventBridge). . Strong Git discipline and preference for incremental delivery. . Self-starter mindset — comfortable turning vague problems into production-ready solutions. . . . Nice-to-Haves. . .
