As a Data Architect at Hummingbird, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure data architectures to meet both internal and client-facing data and analytics needs. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders to align data infrastructure with business objectives and to support our managed service offerings. You will be responsible for managing data integration, storage, and retrieval processes while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.. Responsibilities. Job Description. Develop and implement the organization’s overarching data architecture strategy. . Design data models, databases, and workflows that support data integration and analytics needs. . Align data architecture with business goals, regulatory requirements, and security standards. . Continuously evaluate and enhance the scalability and performance of data systems. . Data Management and Development Lifecycle . Oversee the data development lifecycle, ensuring processes are efficient, transparent, and designed for continuous improvement. . Apply best practices in data development, including version control, testing, and integration, to support long-term scalability. . Collaborate with the data and analytics team to prioritize tasks that drive measurable business outcomes and employee success. . Ensure processes are aligned with the organization’s focus on delivering meaningful and sustainable solutions. . Data Integration . Design and oversee data integration processes, including . ETL. (Extract, Transform, Load) . pipelines. . . Ensure seamless data flow between internal and client-facing systems and applications. . Manage data infrastructure and storage solutions to ensure data integrity, scalability, and security. . Monitor and optimize data pipelines to ensure efficient operations. . Technical Leadership and Collaboration . Partner with business leaders, data engineers, and IT teams to understand and fulfill data and analytics requirements. . Collaborate with stakeholders to define policies and standards that support fairness, transparency, and operational excellence. . Provide technical mentorship to the data and analytics team, empowering them to develop new skills and drive innovation. . Foster a collaborative culture that aligns data initiatives with broader organizational and employee-focused goals. . Documentation and Compliance . Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, processes, and governance policies. . Generate actionable reports and insights to support strategic decision-making and planning. . Ensure all data architecture initiatives comply with healthcare regulations and data security standards. . Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain compliance and mitigate risks. . Required & Desired Skills. Required Skills and Experience . 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field. . Expertise in designing scalable data models, databases, and integration workflows. . Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance requirements, particularly in healthcare. . Proficiency in ETL tools, modern/cloud-based data warehouse platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), and database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL). . Experience managing the full data development lifecycle, including version control, testing methodologies, infrastructure, and deployment. . Desired Skills and Experience . Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HIPAA compliance or HL7. . Advanced experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI . Knowledge of cloud-based data-analytics platforms and technologies (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, etc.). . Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale data projects. . Experience with Epic reporting solutions and data model (e.g. Clarity/Cogito) . #LI-AP1.
