Accountant. Remote, Anywhere in the US - . Part-time Contract. About the role. You will be a key member of the Finance team that works broadly across the organization, including internal and external partners, to ensure reliable, effective and efficient financial operations that are designed to scale in a high-growth environment.. What you’ll do. Collaborate and help manage relationship with our outsourced financial accounting partner, ensuring seamless communication, coordination, and execution of day-to-day work streams, monthly and annual closing processes, and financial reporting activities. Support our FP&A team, senior management, and business leaders in analyzing and understanding operating results, financial trends and other key performance indicators. Work in close partnership with the Controller to strengthen the month-end processes. Oversee payroll processes and execution, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees, including variable and incentive compensation . Review and process additional pay items, W-2s, and 1099s, and validate payroll tax filings for accuracy and compliance . Review, code, and process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and corporate card transactions in accordance with company policy and accounting standards . Maintain and update vendor records, accounts payable inbox, and the Company Finance calendar, ensuring timely tracking of key reporting and compliance deadlines . Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to support timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes. Reconcile general ledger accounts, proactively identify discrepancies, and ensure integrity of financial reporting. Support regulatory reporting requirements including surveys, franchise taxes, and annual reports, ensuring compliance with applicable deadlines . Serve as a point of contact for employee and vendor inquiries, partnering with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently. Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects to inform business decisions and improve operational efficiency . About You. Bachelor’s degree in accounting. 2+ years of experience in an accounting role with experience in general accounting, payroll and accounts payable. Experience in finance and accounting with a health care services provider highly preferred. Proficient in accounting software and other software systems used in our business (experience with Rippling, Ramp and QBO software is a plus). Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
