VP Marketing. The . Director of Communications . will lead all internal and external communications to support the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Served with Honor. This individual will be responsible for shaping our narrative, strengthening our brand, and ensuring cohesive and impactful messaging across channels. In addition to overseeing media relations, supporting digital content, and employee communications, this role includes strategic oversight of government relations and public affairs. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in integrated communications and a working knowledge of advocacy, lobbying, and public policy engagement—particularly with veteran and military communities.. What you will do: . Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies to amplify the company’s mission and elevate its public profile.. Lead the planning, creation, and distribution of high-impact content, including websites, blogs, thought leadership articles, customer stories, social media and executive communications.. Shape and maintain a cohesive narrative and brand voice across all external communication touchpoints.. Lead media relations and serve as the primary point of contact for press inquiries and opportunities.. Build and maintain strong relationships with media, analysts, and influencers to drive coverage and thought leadership.. Identify and respond to timely media opportunities, leveraging breaking news or industry trends to insert Served With Honor into the conversation.. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, business development, and leadership teams to align communications with business goals.. Monitor, analyze, and report on communications effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed for impact.. Collaborate with brand and marketing teams to ensure aligned messaging across campaigns, partnerships, and public initiatives.. Lead internal communications strategy to foster transparency, alignment, and employee engagement across business units.. Create messaging frameworks and content for key internal initiatives, executive updates, and change management.. Provide strategic counsel on legislative and regulatory opportunities, risks, and engagement.. Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, agencies, and relevant stakeholders at the federal, state, and municipal levels.. Coordinate with external consultants or lobbying firms as needed to advance key initiatives.. Track and report on policy developments affecting veterans and the company’s service lines.. What you will bring: . 8+ years of progressive experience in communications, public affairs, or related fields.. 5+ years of experience in communications, content, or media strategy with a proven track record of storytelling and narrative development.. Proven success leading integrated communication strategies in mission-driven or public-facing organizations.. Experience working with or within government, policy, or lobbying environments.. Strong background in managing cross-channel communications, including media relations, editorial content, and social media.. Demonstrated ability to create high-quality content and lead integrated communications campaigns.. Experience building relationships with media and influencers in the Veteran community, digital healthcare, or customer experience spaces.. Strategic mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Strong understanding of veteran affairs, military culture, or government benefits is preferred.. Excellent writing, editing, and messaging skills with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible, engaging stories.. Comfortable representing the organization with external stakeholders, media, and partners.. Mission-aligned with a passion for serving veterans and military families..
