Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer - Costa Rica at JBS Dev. Remote Location: Costa Rica. JBS Dev is seeking a detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer to join our Agile team and contribute to a variety of exciting client projects. In this role, you’ll be hands-on designing and executing automated test solutions while also supporting manual testing efforts as needed. You’ll play a key role in uncovering defects, improving test coverage, and ensuring our applications deliver reliable, high-quality user experiences. Your insights will directly influence design improvements and help us build smarter, more scalable solutions for our clients.. This is a full-time, 100% remote position. Candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in Costa Rica.. Responsibilities. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and application testing. Create and evolve test automation frameworks aligned with project needs. Execute automated test suites and generate clear, actionable test reports from automation runs. Perform manual testing when needed, including writing and executing test cases based on groomed user stories. Identify, document, and track defects using issue-tracking tools, and collaborate with development teams on resolution. Ask thoughtful questions of applications and requirements, ensuring designs are logical, complete, and user-focused. Create and maintain test plans covering automation and manual testing strategies. Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives. Develop an understanding of client business processes and how systems and workflows interact. Differentiate between business requirements and technical requirements to ensure appropriate test coverage. Required Experience:. 4+ years of experience in a QA role with a mix of manual and automated testing. Hands-on experience writing automation test scripts and building or maintaining test frameworks. Experience creating reports and analyzing results from automated test executions. Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments. Strong understanding of manual testing fundamentals, including test case creation and defect reporting. Strong experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, TestComplete, Appium (or similar tools). Familiarity with issue-tracking tools such as Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps. Experience using test case management tools such as Zephyr, TestRail, Qase, or similar. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities. Nice to Have:. Experience using Chrome Developer Tools and Lighthouse for testing and auditing. Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman. Accessibility testing experience. Benefits:.
