Design Engineer at Navattic. Remote Location: Remote (Hub in New York - optional). About Us. Remember the last time you tried to evaluate software and hit that wall of "sorry, you can't try our product before committing to pay"? . Yeah, we thought that was pretty backwards too.. That simple frustration launched Navattic back in 2020. We're helping companies like Ramp, Lattice, Cisco, Gusto and more create a better software buying experience by providing frictionless access to their product. No more broken sandbox environments, no more trials that drag on forever without delivering those crucial "ah-ha" moments, and no more users getting lost in self-service portals before they see any value.. Today, we power interactive product demos for 1000+ customers from scrappy startups to major enterprises. Our demos are everywhere in the customer journey - marketing websites, sales presentations, customer onboarding flows, and upsell campaigns. We're basically giving every software company their superpower back: letting people actually experience their product.. What You'll Be Doing. We're looking for a design engineer who gets excited about the entire journey from customer insight to shipped feature. Depending on what fires you up, you might be:. Product Discovery & Design. Partnering with a product engineer to dig into customer feedback and determine a feature's direction. Designing features for our core product for marketers or our newer Launchpad product for sales teams. Iterating and prototyping on the problem space that you determined. Often self led, but very collaborative in the iteration process.. Design & Development. Polishing features that are already built but need that extra design love. Designing and/or coding critical UI patterns (demo publishing flows, share links, the interactions that make or break user experience). Building components for Compass UI, our design system that keeps everything consistent and moving fast. We dig pushing Figma to it's limits with these components being super high fidelity and using code-connect directly connected to our code base.. End-to-End Execution. Taking projects from concept through Figma designs to frontend implementation. Prototyping ideas to test with users before we build. Making sure nothing gets lost in translation between design and code. Our Design Philosophy. We believe in . product-minded design. - beautiful pixels that don't solve real customer problems aren't worth much. We want . capable end-to-end. people who can move from ideation to implementation without losing fidelity. We also value . business-minded. thinking, to make sure we continue to lead the market.. Why this approach? We've seen what happens when teams have too many handoffs - feature cycles drag on forever, and great ideas get diluted. We're staying lean and fast because that's where we can win: speed and quality of execution while our competitors are still in meetings.. What We're Looking For. Skills & Experience. Strong Figma skills with an eye for both user experience and visual design. Frontend development chops (HTML, CSS, Typescript) - you don't need to be a strong engineer, but you should be comfortable jumping into code. Experience with design systems and component libraries. Understanding of user research and how to translate insights into design decisions. Mid to Staff level experience preferred, but we're more interested in enthusiasm and growth potential. Mindset. You think about business impact, as well as design craft. You enjoy the messy, iterative process of building products. You're comfortable with ambiguity and can drive projects forward independently. You want to ship fast and iterate based on real user feedback. Why Join Navattic. Ownership. - You'll have real decision-making power over your day-to-day work and the direction of features you're building.. Impact. - Every person at Navattic directly influences company success. Your work will be seen by thousands of users and directly impact our growth.. Flexibility. - Fully remote team with optional co-working in NYC. We work across US/Canada timezones primarily, with openness to exceptional EU candidates.. Benefits That Actually Matter. WeWork Wednesdays in NYC or co-working credit for your city. Annual home office stipend. Monthly wellness stipend. Full health, dental, and vision coverage. 401k with company matching. Twice-yearly company off-sites plus annual team off-sites. Ready to Chat?. We're expanding our design team capacity because we've built solid processes around our design system and designer-engineer collaboration. Now we need someone who can help us move even faster while maintaining the quality that sets us apart.. If you're excited about building the future of software demos and think you'd thrive in a fast-moving, impact-driven environment, we'd love to hear from you - even if you don't check every box but bring the right energy and curiosity.
