We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our engineering team. This role blends deep technical work with people leadership and offers the chance to build tools used directly in surgical care.. This role is remote-first, and open to European timezones — we prioritize talent over everything else. Some travel (US and Europe) is required to visit hospitals, observe workflows, and co-design with clinical users.. What You’ll Do. You’ll lead the development of critical products while mentoring teammates and shaping how we work. Your work will help clinicians and care teams focus on patients—not paperwork. This is a hands-on role. We expect you’ll spend around 60% of your time coding and 40% leading technical direction and collaboration.. Within your first 6 months, you will:. Build and ship meaningful product features. across two major areas (such as our real-time hospital tools and our data backend). Break work into small increments. that deliver value quickly. Collaborate across teams. to scope, build, and refine our software. Coach and support teammates. through pairing, design reviews, and thoughtful feedback. Backend. : Elixir (Phoenix), C++. Frontend. : React, TypeScript. Infrastructure. : Azure, GitHub Actions, containerized deployments, NixOS. Data. : Postgres, ETL pipelines. APIs. : GraphQL, REST, integrations with healthcare systems (e.g. HL7/FHIR). We don’t expect you to have deep experience in each tool or to know the languages (Elixir, C++, etc) from day 1 — but we’re looking for curiosity and adaptability.
