Senior Accountant at Smalls. Remote Location: Remote US. Smalls are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team and assist with general ledger operations. This role reports to the Director of Accounting and is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about process improvement and accuracy. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting our continued growth.. What You'll Do:. Assist with maintaining general ledger integrity, supporting monthly/quarterly/year-end closings.. Prepare account reconciliations, identify and resolve discrepancies, and maintain comprehensive documentation.. Manage prepaid expense schedules including amortization calculations and balance sheet reconciliations.. Prepare and analyze accrual entries, coordinating with departments to ensure complete period-end accruals.. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, investigating and resolving outstanding items.. Maintain detailed documentation and records for all reconciliation activities for future reference.. Assist with the audit process by preparing audit schedules, documentation, and analyses.. Support auditor inquiries and help implement recommendations and control improvements.. Identify automation opportunities and lead initiatives to streamline closing procedures.. Develop accounting procedures documentation and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize processes.. What we'll love about you:. You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.. You have 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong GL background.. You have advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Ramp.. You have strong Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups.. You’ll be knowledgeable about GAAP and financial reporting requirements.. You’ll have exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.. You have a proven track record of continuous process improvement initiatives.. You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.. You have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.. Huge Plus: Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience strongly preferred.. Huge Plus: Experience with high-volume transaction processing and inventory/cost accounting principles.. Huge Plus: Knowledge of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606).. What you’ll love about us:.
