Operations Lead ( Transfer Agency) at Vinyl Equity, Inc.. Remote Location: Mangaluru Office. About the Role. You'll build and lead our India Operations team from zero — defining roles, hiring, and designing coverage across Indian and U.S. hours. This is a player-coach role: hands-on execution early, scaling through hiring and delegation as the team grows. You'll own the day-to-day running of a U.S. stock transfer agency and act as the first line of defense on a live share register.. Key Responsibilities. Recruit, train, and manage the India Operations team; define roles, onboarding, and coverage across IST/U.S. Eastern hours. Own service quality end-to-end: SLAs, maker-checker controls, error tracking, escalation. Own the SOP library; close documentation gaps and drive automation with U.S. operations, compliance, and engineering. Run daily DTC operations: pending-transfer reviews, DWAC/DRS processing, FAST/SCL balancing. Process issuances and treasury orders under maker-checker controls. Review and process transfers — routine, estate, broker, certificate-to-DRS — with document and medallion verification. Own KYC/KYB review and OFAC/adverse-media screening; escalate matches immediately. Handle shareholder and issuer support: account inquiries, lost-holder cases, certificate replacements. Own recurring SEC compliance reporting (Rules 17Ad-2/17Ad-6/17Ad-17, DTCC CBRS, escheatment). Lead proxy season, paying agency, and corporate actions execution. Own new-issuer onboarding: appointment packages, DTC agent-change notices, legacy record ingestion. Write and maintain SOPs; drive process improvement and automation with engineering. Role Requirements. 10+ years in securities or transfer agency operations (global transfer agent, Indian RTA, asset manager, or bank securities-services center). Proven experience building and leading operations teams from scratch. Deep respect for written procedure; judgment to escalate when a case doesn't fit it. Bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, accounting, or a related field. Strong data skills: Excel/Sheets, unfamiliar file formats; basic scripting a plus. Expert user of Claude or an equivalent AI assistant. Meticulous attention to detail and clear written English. Reliability against hard cutoffs; this role operates on U.S. Eastern Time (ET) hours. High integrity and discretion handling PII and material non-public information. Nice to Haves. Exposure to DTC/DTCC systems (FAST, DWAC, DRS Profile, Cede & Co., CBRS, omnibus proxies) and SEC 17Ad-series rules. Experience with record conversions/deconversions or legacy data migration. Familiarity with Rule 144, medallion guarantees, escheatment, KYC/KYB, AML, or proxy/annual-meeting logistics. Experience running U.S. or cross-border operations from India against U.S.-hours SLAs. Benefits. Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Equity participation. Comprehensive health insurance, paid leave, and wellness benefits. Fully remote (India). A true zero-to-one leadership mandate, backed by the U.S. leadership team. Modern operations environment with purpose-built tooling and AI assistance.
