Weβre going after all of it.. About the Role. We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to accelerate the reliability and velocity of . Sully.ai. βs core product. You will take ownership of critical services and UI components end-to-end, setting engineering standards, shaping rituals, and applying SRE practices to ensure measurable performance. This role combines deep technical execution with leadership β guiding reliability practices, strengthening pipelines, and enabling the team to ship faster with confidence.. Key Responsibilities. Own a product slice end-to-end (service + UI) with defined SLOs, dashboards, and on-call practices modeled on DORA/SRE standards.. Refactor high-churn pipelines (e.g., transcription β JSON notes, EHR writebacks) behind stable contracts and automated tests.. Lead engineering rituals (weekly plan β ship β measure cadence, observability reviews, post-deploy metrics).. Improve clinical reliability and latency with profiling, caching, and schema/contract hardening.. Mentor engineers and set quality guardrails for velocity, reliability, and maintainability.. Hard Requirements. Proven experience operating production services with measurable reliability (SLO/SLA, error budgets) and CI/CD practices.. Strong technical depth in Python and TypeScript; able to operate across APIs, data pipelines, and UI.. Experience driving systemic reliability and velocity improvements across teams.. Bias to action and comfort in ambiguous, founder-style environments.. Nice-to-Have. Healthcare/EHR integration experience (FHIR, HL7, bidirectional sync).. Experience leading small teams or cross-functional initiatives.. Background with OpenTelemetry, advanced observability, or scaling in regulated industries.. First-Month Focus. Take ownership of a core product service and establish clear SLOs and dashboards.. Audit reliability pain points (audioβnote, EHR sync paths, agent interfaces) and propose immediate refactors.. Implement weekly βplan β ship β measureβ engineering cadence with metrics visible to the team.. Success OKRs (90 Days). Halve error rates on at least one high-churn pipeline via tracing, contracts, and CI/CD guardrails.. Cut latency of core product workflows (30β50%) under clinical load..
