Principal, Investment Management. is a senior member of Crux’s Investments team, reporting directly to the Head of Investments. This is an execution-focused role requiring strong transaction leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across complex renewable energy financings.. The Principal will take ownership of live transactions — leading document negotiations, preparing and presenting investment opportunities for Investment Committee approval, and engaging directly with both developer/sponsor clients and investor partners. This role requires proven experience in renewable energy tax equity, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to balance detailed transaction execution with broader relationship management.. Key Responsibilities. Lead transaction execution for tax equity and preferred equity investments, including negotiations with sponsors, investors, and external advisors.. Prepare and present investment opportunities to Investment Committee, highlighting economics, structural terms, risks, and mitigants.. Oversee and review financial models developed by team members; provide guidance on assumptions, sensitivities, and risk cases.. Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Risk teams to resolve key issues and ensure compliance with IRS rules, safe harbor tests, and recapture protections.. Adept at managing client relationships on both sides of the market — developers/sponsors and investors — ensuring clear communication and smooth execution.. Support business development by identifying opportunities to scale programmatic relationships with high-quality sponsors and investors.. Mentor and guide junior team members, providing training on modeling, execution, and best practices.. Use technology and AI-enabled tools to streamline diligence, negotiations, and investment committee preparation.. What you bring . Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA, JD, or advanced degree a plus.. Minimum 6–8+ years of experience in renewable energy, structured finance, or infrastructure investing, with direct experience leading tax equity transactions.. Demonstrated ability to negotiate transaction documents (partnership flips, T-flips, preferred equity structures; sale-leaseback a plus).. Strong financial modeling skills and ability to review/analyze complex partnership models.. Deep understanding of IRS requirements, safe harbor rules, allocation methodologies, and recapture provisions.. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.. Proven ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.. Interest in leveraging technology and AI to enhance investment execution and portfolio management.. FINRA license(s) required or willingness to obtain under Crux’s broker-dealer sponsorship.. What we bring. Backing, traction & brand. :.
