Chainalysis Government Solutions (CGS) is hiring paid interns for Fall 2026 to join our Investigations & Data Analysis team in the Washington, DC metro area. Work alongside experienced investigators on cryptocurrency and blockchain cases supporting law enforcement and national security missions. You'll build practical skills in open-source research, blockchain analytics, and financial crime investigations - with a potential direct pathway into full-time roles at one of the most impactful companies in the digital-asset space.. Schedule:. 20 hours per week, flexible around academic schedules, for a 12-week internship during the Fall 2026 semester. Start Date:. August 2026 (timing determined based on the intern cohort’s academic schedules). Training:. One week of in-person onboarding and training in Ashburn, VA prior to the start of the academic semester. Ideal Majors. : International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Other related analytical or technical disciplines. Program Overview. The CGS Internship Program is designed to develop the next generation of investigators and data analysts supporting government missions in the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem. Interns will work directly with experienced professionals on operational, analytical, and research-driven projects while gaining exposure to cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain analytics, and US government regulatory, intelligence, and law enforcement focused missions.. This program is intended to serve as a pipeline into future full-time roles at Chainalysis Government Solutions.. Responsibilities. Support investigative, analytical, and operational projects related to cryptocurrency and blockchain activity. Conduct open-source research and organize findings into clear written products. Communicate findings and updates clearly and professionally. Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting tasks. Learn Chainalysis tools and apply investigative and analytical methodologies in a professional environment. Manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a remote work setting. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative projects. Hiring Requirements. GPA of 3.0 or above. Located in the Washington DC Metro Area. Expected graduation date of Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. Ability to pass a federal background check for future full-time roles, which requires US citizenship and compliance with federal drug-use guidelines. Qualifications. Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn and solve problems. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Professional communication skills and attention to detail. Demonstrates humility, coachability, and willingness to apply feedback. Interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, or financial investigations. Strong organizational and time management skills. Data analysis or technical skills (particularly for candidates interested in future data-focused roles. Optional Preferred Skills. Previous experience with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital assets (academic or personal). Prior internship or professional experience, especially in cryptocurrency, government, investigations, cybersecurity, or data science.
