The Software Development Rotational Program is a highly selective opportunity designed specifically for mission-oriented new graduates who want to have real world impact through engineering. Over the course of 12 months, you’ll rotate across two teams within Gecko’s high-impact Software Platform, Forward Deployed Engineering, and/or Hardware Platform organizations. This is a full time role at Gecko Robotics, starting with a 12 month period of rotating between different engineering teams before being matched to a full time team placement and position.. Duration. Anticipated Start Date: July 2026. 12-month rotational program, with 2 rotations lasting 6 months each. From your first day you will be considered a full time employee at Gecko, and the rotational program concludes on your first anniversary . Rotations. Your first 6 months at Gecko will start with one rotation within our Software Platform Team.. Your next rotation will be within our Forward Deployed Engineering team, the Software Platform team, or the Hardware Platform team, depending on business needs and your unique interests! . Cohort Size. You will be part of a cohort of 8 recent graduates, distributed between our NYC and Boston offices . Final Placement. After completing your two rotations, you will rank your preference of team assignments for your long term placement.. Your final assignment is guided by business needs, your performance over your first year, and your preference/interests.. We will also do a comprehensive check-in 6 months into your long-term placement to assess fit and growth trajectory.. What You’ll Receive. One-on-one mentorship with Geckos across the company. Quarterly check in’s surrounding your development. Exposure to multiple teams within a rapidly growing startup environment. High ownership over projects and the ability to make a significant impact. A $2,000 yearly professional development stipend to use at your discretion to further learning. Location and Travel. Participants will be based in Boston or New York City. Expect to travel about 25% of the time during your first year to colocate with different teams, work with customers onsite, and be exposed to different areas of our business. Technologies We Use. We use a variety of technologies, but our software teams primarily operate using Python, React, and Typescript with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as our cloud provider. Working towards B.S., M.S, or M.S.E. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical field. Have an anticipated graduation date from December 2025 - June 2026. Completed at least one 10-12 week technical internship or co-op (startup companies preferred). Experience writing clean, maintainable code for a production environment. Understanding of software design patterns, algorithms, and data-intensive application design. Desire to have a high impact at a fast-moving startup as a key contributor on new projects and fast-growing teams. Eager to work at a mission-driven, fast paced, and collaborative organization. Posses a strong passion for learning and growth and are open to new ideas, new technologies,, and continuous feedback. Are eager to learn, travel, and grow through hands-on experiences. We typically do four rounds of interviews, including a brief preliminary online coding interview. Most folks complete our interview process in ~4-5 weeks, depending on scheduling..
