Crux is looking for an attorney with prior Big Law experience to join our team in a unique, cross-functional role that blends legal insight with business and product strategy. As our founding . Legal Partnerships & Innovation Lead. , you’ll help shape how Crux works with law firms, builds legal tools and datasets, and engages with the broader legal and financial markets.. This is a unique opportunity for someone with deep legal training and strong commercial and partnership instincts to shape the legal infrastructure of the clean economy.. What you’ll do. Grow and deepen relationships with law firms. Work closely with our Partnerships team to strengthen our network of law firms —across partners, associates, paralegals, and innovation leaders. You’ll help expand key firm relationships and build new ones, with a focus on identifying and delivering value to both sides.. Build long-term partnerships. Lead law firm relationship development by identifying areas of mutual opportunity—including referral relationships, co-selling opportunities, and cross-collaboration. You'll organize networking events, client dinners, panel discussions, and represent Crux at legal and industry conferences.. Shape Crux legal products. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design to identify, improve and prioritize platform features that make life easier for law firm users and their clients. Use your understanding of legal workflows to inform product development and help drive adoption across firms.. Be the voice of legal users. Act as a trusted contact for lawyers engaging with Crux. Collect and synthesize feedback from the legal community and ensure it influences both how we build and how we go to market.. Evaluate how AI can help. Stay on top of new AI tools for legal workflows and help identify how they can improve Crux’s internal operations and the law firm experience of Crux’s products. Work with the product and engineering teams to vet and implement the right ones.. Own Crux’s legal toolkit. Maintain and evolve our core legal products—like diligence checklists, contract templates, and sample term sets. Build formal feedback processes with key firms and partners to keep our toolkit up-to-date and responsive to market needs.. Help us understand and structure legal data. Build a dataset around transaction terms. Identify useful legal data sources and collaborate with internal teams to help Crux define opportunities for standardization—on the platform and in the market.. Travel: Up to 25% (client events, conferences, internal team onsites).. What you’ve done. 3-7+ years of experience practicing at a top-tier law firm, ideally in transactional work such as project finance, M&A, or capital markets. Experience with or interest in clean energy markets and/or FinTech is a plus. . Built strong internal and external stakeholder relationships in complex environments.. Found ways to turn legal expertise into practical tools, product improvements, or strategic insights—whether in a past in-house role, a tech environment, or side initiatives.. Shown an entrepreneurial mindset by helping get new ideas off the ground—whether through launching an initiative, shaping go-to-market plans, or creating content or frameworks from scratch.. Worked cross-functionally and independently in fast-moving environments.. Healthcare: We cover 100% of premiums for employees with a variety of plans on Aetna (nationwide) and Kaiser (WA and California), and subsidize $400/month for dependents (total), if relevant.. Dental & Vision: We cover 100% of premiums for employees and 50% for dependents (each), if relevant.. Holidays & PTO: 10 company holidays + 20 days of paid vacation annually.. 401(k): We support a 401(k), though do not currently offer matching (typical for early-stage startups).. Team Offsites: Regular all-team onsites 3x/year.. Compensation: Base salary range of $190,000-$225,000 with team bonus potential and equity in the form of stock options.. Our Values.
