Software Engineer, Compliance. to lead the development of integrations and tooling that power Dakota’s compliance and onboarding systems. You’ll be embedded with our backend team and work in Golang, but your primary stakeholders will include our compliance, risk, and onboarding teams.. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the intersection of engineering and financial operations, and who wants to help scale the technical infrastructure that supports secure and seamless user onboarding and monitoring.. What You'll Do. Build and maintain integrations with third-party compliance platforms including ID verification and transaction monitoring software (e.g. Persona, Unit 23). Extend our internal onboarding and transaction monitoring infrastructure. Own technical implementation of KYC/KYB workflows, alerting systems, and rule engines. Work cross-functionally with compliance, risk, engineering, and product teams to translate evolving regulatory requirements (e.g. VASP guidance, travel rule) into scalable, automated systems.. Support audits and regulatory reviews by ensuring that data artifacts, logs, and evidence are complete, reliable, and retrievable.. Develop dashboards and tools for audits, reporting obligations, and real-time risk monitoring.. Write clean, maintainable Golang code in our backend systems. Tech Stack. Experience working with third-party SaaS APIs (REST/GraphQL, auth, webhooks, error handling, etc.). Excellent communication skills — you can partner effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with secure data flows, audit logging, and operational tooling. Located in a time zone between UTC-7 and UTC+1. Preferred Qualifications. Experience integrating compliance tooling such as Persona, Unit21, TRM Labs, or similar. Proficient with LLMs and effective prompting techniques for major models, especially Claude.
