About the Role. As a Backend Engineer at Whippy you will:. Craft highly scalable and intuitive APIs to rapidly deploy new products and services.. Write Engineering Requirement Documents to take something from idea, to defined tasks, to implementation, to roll out and evaluating its success.. Build test suites that help us effectively maintain product performance and reliability, and integrate product analytics to measure the success of the features your launch.. Some backend engineers have built.. A Public API and webhook interface to process 100s of millions of messages. A query language on top of Postgres and OpenSearch. A production link shortening URL service with custom domains support. About you. A strong understanding of web api architecture to high quality and well document APIs.. A desire to be a part of the entire project development process. From research gathering and planning, to implementation and monitoring.. Great written and verbal communication skills for expressing ideas, designs, and potential solutions in mostly-asynchronous manner.. What we offer?. While English is the second language for many engineers on the team, fluency in written English is a requirement.
