In this role, you’ll design and build critical government digital services. At first, you'll work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. You’ll join a cross-functional, dynamic team building critical healthcare APIs, figure out how to gracefully modernize existing systems, and ultimately help the government improve the quality of care for healthcare beneficiaries. This role is fully remote, but due to government policies around access to internal systems, all work must be performed in the continental United States.. Here are our must-haves for this role:. 5+ years of software engineering experience. Some Java/SpringBoot experience . Substantial experience with a modern dynamic language like Ruby, Python, or JavaScript, and enthusiasm to pick up new tools and languages as needed. Experience writing efficient, maintainable code. Desire to work at a small company focused on thoughtful growth. Curiosity, scrappiness, patience, and humility. Here's what we hope you bring:. Healthcare experience or knowledge of the FHIR standard a big plus. Understanding of unit testing, CI/CD, and cloud services. Some infrastructure experience a plus—the team deploys in AWS and uses Terraform and Aurora. Any full-stack Rails experience or frontend experience a plus—the team maintains a Rails documentation/onboarding app along with the backend systems.
