As we expand, we seek an Executive Director of Field Medical Affairs to build and lead our medical field presence, ensuring scientific exchange, clinical trial execution, and long-term strategy that drives meaningful patient impact.. This is more than a leadership role—it’s a chance to shape medical affairs strategy from the ground up. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in advancing DM199 through its clinical development journey, ensuring strong scientific engagement with trial sites, investigators, and thought leaders. Over time, you will also lead the transition into executing DiaMedica’s medical strategy in close partnership with the Head of Medical Affairs, Medical Director, and executive leadership.. Key Responsibilities:. Clinical Development Focus (Immediate Priorities). Trial Site Engagement: Serve as a scientific resource for DM199 trial site investigators and study coordinators, ensuring investigator engagement, recruitment, and patient retention.. Site Expansion: Collaborate with Clinical Development to identify, assess, and enroll additional clinical trial sites as needed.. Scientific Communications Platform. Identify and oversee a qualified vendor partner to develop the DM199 scientific communications platform, establishing strategic pillars that emphasize:. Burden of disease. Unmet need. Pathophysiology. Plausible mechanistic target for DM199. KOL Engagement. Partner with vendor to map and prioritize the top 200 preeclampsia KOLs, leveraging clinical trial publications, society leadership, and scientific contributions.. Lead the 2026 Advisory Board, generating critical insights to shape medical affairs strategy and inform publication priorities.. Medical Affairs Build-Out. Evaluate the potential for field medical team expansion, balancing budget, clinical development needs, and anticipated commercial launch support.. Partner with the CMO to recruit and hire key medical affairs leaders, such as Head of Medical Strategy and Medical Communications.. Strategic Leadership (Longer-Term Evolution). Collaborate with Head of Medical Affairs, Medical Director, and senior leadership to design and execute the overarching medical strategy.. Integrate KOL, trial, and advisory board insights into DiaMedica’s broader clinical and commercial planning.. Represent DiaMedica at major medical congresses, symposia, and scientific advisory boards.. Required Qualifications:. Proven ability to establish credibility with investigators, KOLs, and scientific leaders through authentic, evidence-based dialogue.. Experience driving clinical trial engagement with measurable impact on recruitment and retention.. Skilled at navigating ambiguity in early-stage biotech environments, with a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution.. Strong leadership capability to coach, scale, and inspire medical teams in a growing organization.. Education & Experience. Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) required.. 10+ years in Medical Affairs with significant experience in clinical development interface; small-to-mid-size biotech preferred.. Expertise in neurology, obstetrics, or related therapeutic areas highly valued.. Demonstrated success in advisory board execution, KOL mapping, and publication strategy.. Track record of contributing to medical affairs build-out and cross-functional collaboration.. What we offer.
