As our Director of Product Design, you’ll shape how design functions across our agency – driving excellence in UI/UX, design systems, and team development. . . In this role, you’ll lead with empathy, curiosity, and conviction motivating our Product Design team while staying hands-on where needed. Strategic Leadership. . Define and implement the strategic vision for how design contributes to client and agency success. Partner with Strategy and Engineering leads to drive cohesive digital product strategies. Translate client business objectives into innovative design approaches that deliver results. Champion design thinking across the agency, ensuring it’s integrated into all service areas. . Team Management & Development. . Lead, coach, and grow a diverse, high-performing team of designers. Conduct performance reviews, provide mentorship, and support career development. Recruit and onboard design talent to meet evolving client and agency needs. Review and provide high-level feedback on design work to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with strategy. Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture rooted in creativity and innovation. . Process & Tooling Management. . Architect scalable design workflows and processes for operational efficiency. Lead estimation methodologies for design work and train the team in accuracy and delivery planning. Establish and evolve design systems to ensure consistency and productivity across all projects. Evaluate and integrate emerging design tools, low-code platforms (like Webflow), and AI-enhanced workflows. Collaborate with UX Engineering to ensure technical feasibility and modern development alignment. . Client & Customer Engagement. . Serve as the design authority in client meetings—leading discovery, presenting concepts, and defending decisions with strategic rationale. Collaborate with Product Managers to ensure designs meet client expectations and user needs. Actively contribute to user research activities and empower the design team to incorporate insights into their work. Incorporate client feedback into design iterations constructively and efficiently. . Technical Engagement & Oversight. . Maintain expertise in UX/UI best practices, accessibility, and modern digital trends. Oversee UI development standards and provide hands-on design support for key initiatives. Collaborate with engineers on no-code and CMS implementations to ensure design integrity. Balance aesthetic, business, and technical constraints in all design solutions. . Business Development. . Support proposal development and help articulate design’s role in business success. Join pitch teams for new business and represent the design vision in client presentations. Create case studies that showcase impactful work and evolve the agency’s design positioning. Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and stay ahead of market trends. Represent the agency at industry events and within design communities. . What you’ll need. . 8+ years of professional experience in product design, UI/UX, or digital design. 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and client relationships. A strong portfolio demonstrating digital product excellence across platforms. Expertise in design systems, UX principles, and information architecture. Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch). Experience with Webflow or similar low-code tools for rapid prototyping or implementation. Familiarity with UX engineering practices and development handoff processes. Strong presentation, storytelling, and communication skills. . Bonus Points. . Experience scaling or managing multi-brand design systems. Experience leading design in a remote or hybrid team environment. Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
