We are looking for a freelance Prototype Designer who specializes in high-fidelity, AI-assisted prototyping. This role is embedded within one of our major client's product organizations, with ongoing support and guidance from Contrast UX.. You will own the translation of design concepts into advanced, interactive prototypes that drive product decisions, support user testing, and align stakeholders. What sets this role apart is that we expect you to use AI prototyping tools, including Figma Make, Lovable, and Claude Code with Figma MCP integration, as core parts of your daily workflow. You should know how to move from concept to high-fidelity interactive experience faster than a traditional prototyping process allows, without compromising on craft or usability.. This is a hands on, delivery focused role. You are expected to make experiences feel real, not just look finished.. What You Will Do. Design and develop high-fidelity, interactive prototypes in Figma that support user testing, stakeholder alignment, and rapid product iteration. Use AI prototyping tools as an integral part of your workflow to accelerate the speed, quality, and depth of prototyping deliverables. Translate product requirements and design concepts into interactive experiences that accurately reflect intended user flows and interactions. Collaborate daily with the client's product designers, product managers, and developers to ensure prototypes align with product goals, technical constraints, and design system standards. Implement feedback from user tests and stakeholder reviews quickly, keeping prototypes current across fast-moving product cycles. Maintain consistency with the established design system while pushing the boundaries of what AI-assisted prototyping can achieve. Identify and flag usability issues during the prototyping process, contributing UX perspective beyond pure execution. What We Are Looking For. At least 2 years of experience as a UX/UI or product designer with a strong and demonstrable focus on high-fidelity prototyping. Deep proficiency in Figma, including advanced prototyping techniques, component variants, conditional logic, and interaction design. Hands-on experience with AI prototyping tools, like Figma Make, Lovable, and Claude Code with Figma MCP integration, used as part of a real design workflow rather than occasional experimentation. Proven ability to build complex, functional prototypes that simulate realistic end-user interactions and product behavior. Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and interaction design best practices. Strong communication skills with the ability to present and explain design decisions and prototype behavior to non-design stakeholders. Ability to manage your own time, prioritize across parallel workstreams, and deliver consistently in a freelance, remote setup. Attention to detail with an eye for polish, consistency, and usability at every fidelity level.
