Multimedia Designer at Lot Sixteen. Location Information: Washington, D. C., United States. . OVERVIEW. Lot Sixteen is a bipartisan communications and lobbying firm looking for a Multimedia Designer to join our team — print and digital collateral, video and motion graphics, social content and more.. THE FIRM. Lot Sixteen is looking for a Multimedia Designer to join a smart and strategic team of communications and government relations professionals. In this role, ownership of and accountability for the planning and executing of design-related work across a variety of platforms will be required.. We are a proactive bunch. We translate words into actions. We insist on knowing what we are talking about. We view the identification of a problem or task as only the first of many steps required to get results. We prioritize solutions, develop detailed work plans, secure approval to execute those plans, and get to work on implementation. We worry, so clients don’t have to. And we want this same approach from the person who takes this job.. We are focused on building an agency that feels like home, a team of friends who support each other as much as they challenge each other, and a client base whose trust and confidence in us is earned every day. At Lot Sixteen, we prioritize quality, smart thinking, and we actively work to cultivate a welcoming and challenging work environment. We provide or exceed all the standard work perks and expectations, including:. Competitive salary. Generous benefits, including:. Health and Dental Plan. Retirement Savings program (with company match). Commuter Benefits. All-you-can-eat snacks and all-you-can-drink coffee. Colleagues who welcome your family & friends and recognize that balancing both worlds is an essential ingredient to happiness. A downtown Washington, D.C. location on McPherson Square Park, near 15th & K Streets NW with a roof deck and a gym.. THE ROLE. A multimedia designer at Lot Sixteen works across both of our practices — communications and government relations — turning strategy into materials that move audiences on Capitol Hill, in the agencies, and in the market.. Lot Sixteen cares about design and knows it’s a key ingredient to good and persuasive messaging. A one-pager is frequently the only thing a staffer reads before a markup, and a proposal is frequently the first piece of content a client will receive from us. We want the person making that content to be in the conversation, not just downstream of it. We’ll ask you what you think — of the layout, and of the point it’s making.. In practice, the work breaks down roughly as follows: half of it is new business proposals and static client collateral, a quarter is video and motion, and the remaining quarter is social and day-to-day content. The mix shifts week to week.. You will be responsible for:. Designing new business proposals and pitch materials that help the firm win work;. Producing client-facing collateral — one-pagers, leave-behinds, report layouts, event materials, presentation decks and graphics;. Producing video and motion graphics — client explainers, event recaps, social cutdowns — from concept through final cut;. Building digital and social assets across LinkedIn, X, Instagram and client web properties, and keeping . lotsixteen.com. current (routine updates to a site that already exists — a few hours a month, not a redesign);. Developing and maintaining visual systems and templates that keep client work consistent and let teams move fast;. Partnering with account leads and outside vendors — printers, event managers, web developers — to get work produced on time and on budget.. Producing advertising assets for paid media campaigns including LinkedIn, Facebook and occasional banner ads.. This role reports to a Vice President on our communications team, with creative direction from one of the co-founders. We are a hybrid firm: we ask everyone to be in the office three days a week, and you choose which three.. THE CANDIDATE. You know how to balance competing demands with composure, smarts and confidence;. You’re highly creative, passionate about details large and small, and always honing your skills;. You enjoy the challenge of enhancing materials with impactful design;. You feel an obligation to keep people in the loop, rather than cut them out of it;. You pride yourself on looking around corners, evaluating scenarios and being prepared;. You find fulfillment in developing and implementing solutions to problems that feel unsolvable;. You stay flexible and calm when handling changes and meeting strict deadlines;. You like to lend a hand when you see that someone needs help; and. You finish what you start, without anyone checking up on you.. EXPERIENCE. You are most likely to thrive in this role if you have at least some experience at an agency or multi-client work and or have worked in the DC issues and advocacy space. We care less about where or how long you went to school than we do about how eager you are to continue learning. Equally important: a willingness to admit what you don’t know and go find the answers.. What you'll need:. Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud — InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop — for print and digital collateral;. Working command of Cap Cut, Premiere Pro, and After Effects: pacing a cut, animating data, and building lower thirds and captions that work with the sound off;. Canva, where a good deal of our client and internal template work lives;. Rigor about quality control — design consistency, close attention to brand guidelines and design best practices;. Judgment about how design needs change across audiences and formats, from formal presentations to social media posts.. Helpful, but not required:. Figma, or a comparable tool, for building templates and component libraries the rest of the firm can work from;. Enough Webflow or Squarespace to make routine updates to a site someone else built.. A note on qualifications: If you meet most of what’s above, apply anyway. We’ll consider any equivalent combination of skills and experience, and we care more about your portfolio and experience than anything else.. COMPENSATION. This role is open at the Senior Associate or Director level depending on experience, with a salary range of $65,000 to $120,000. Title and starting salary will be set based on portfolio, years of relevant experience. Candidates with significant agency leadership experience may be considered at a more senior level. Compensation also includes health and dental coverage, a retirement savings program with company match, and commuter benefits.. If you have any questions regarding the application process, please email us at . [email protected]. . We look forward to hearing from you!. .
