Arlo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Cloud Program Office Initiative. In this role, you will analyze current data flow processes, IT environments, and technologies to develop recommendations that improve cost efficiency, streamline processes, enable shared services, and break down silos to enhance data interoperability and consolidation. You will work closely with NOAA stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, identify required resources, and deliver high-value cloud services that advance the mission of NOAA Fisheries.. . . Responsibilities and/or Success Factors: . . . Conduct an accelerated assessment of the existing data and cloud landscape using Starlo’s proven templates and pre-built artifacts. . . Research and analyze the existing cloud program service offering catalog to understand current services offered, utilization, and alignment with organizational needs. . . Capture cloud and data-specific needs and challenges by engaging with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and pain points. . . Develop robust service delivery models for efficient and effective delivery of cloud services and data capabilities. . . Assist in the implementation and management of a centralized management platform to provide visibility and control over the cloud environment. . . Assist in the development of cloud-based AI capabilities and Machine Learning models. . . Ensure the integration of diverse data types (images, documents, video, audio) to support AI development. . . Ensure effective monitoring of data ingestion pipelines, staging, and production environments. . . Define and conduct evaluations against established KPIs. . . Conduct work using Agile methodology best practices to support design, development, testing, and deployment. . . Implement ETL pipelines and develop data transformation processes. . . Establish and support documentation standards and version control. . . Assist in the maintenance of a knowledge repository inclusive of SOPs, reporting, architecture diagrams, configuration guidelines, and network settings. . . Assist in the development and transition of Data & AI Proof-of-Concept solutions to production environments. . . Develop comprehensive documentation, knowledge transfers, and training. . . Advise in the development of data governance processes and policies for data lifecycle management. . . Establish standards and best practices for data integration and interoperability. . . Utilize generative AI technologies to facilitate data integration across schemas and taxonomies. . . Assist in the development of detailed designs for data ETL processes, data landing zones based on approved managed services. . . Oversee the deployment and validation of proof-of-concept to the configured landing zone. . . Implement processes for ongoing compliance with organizational policies and security controls.. . . US Citizenship.. . Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. . . Proven experience in business analysis and data science, particularly in working with data within a cloud environment . . Advanced knowledge of SQL . . Advanced knowledge and proven experience with Python . . Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as . Google Cloud. . . Experience with data analysis tools and techniques, including statistical analysis, data visualization, parallelization, and machine learning. . . Experience with cloud ETL processes, particularly . Google DataFlow . . Experience with cloud data warehousing technologies, particularly BigQuery . . Experience with data wrangling processes. . . Experience with developing reports and visualizations. . . Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. . . Ability to document technical processes clearly and concisely. . .
