The Manager, Plant Security and Fire Protection will oversee day-to-day Security and Fire Protection activities at Scout’s South Carolina vehicle production plant, assuring the protection of people, corporate assets, production operations and business continuity. Reporting to the Senior Director, Security and Fire Protection, the Manager will foster a culture of security awareness throughout the organization, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, drive the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards, and contribute to the long-term goals and objectives of both Scout's Security function and Production operations.. . Draft (develop) and implement comprehensive security and fire protection policies, procedures, and programs for the manufacturing plant campus in alignment with Scout corporate standards.. . Manage and lead a team of Scout and third-party security and fire protection professionals, ensuring effective coordination and allocation of resources to maintain a secure and safe environment.. . Oversee the development and delivery of training programs on security and fire protection procedures for employees, contractors, and visitors, fostering a culture of security awareness in the Plant.. . Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities, and recommend and implement appropriate countermeasures to mitigate risks.. . Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Production, Facilities, EHS, Plant Engineering, HR and IT, as well as local first responder authorities, to incorporate security and fire protection requirements into operational plans, construction projects, and emergency response protocols.. . Draft scopes of work, engage qualified suppliers, and manage contracts and service delivery for on-site security and fire protection services and technologies, based off of architectural and engineering designs for security and fire protection systems from the architects of record.. . Review physical security and fire protection designs for compliance of Scout Motors standards. Maintain and monitor installed electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems, to ensure their proper functioning and timely resolution of any technical issues.. . Grow and nuture relationships with local law enforcement, emergency response agencies, and other external stakeholders to facilitate effective incident response and community engagement.. . Conduct investigations into security incidents, accidents, and breaches of security, ensuring timely reporting, clear written documentation, and implementation of corrective actions.. . Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to security, fire protection with emphasis on EV batteries, and emergency management, and proactively make recommendations for improvements.. . Serve as on-scene Incident Commander for emergency situations at the plant; develop, maintain and execute Emergency Action and Crisis Response Plans for potential situations.. . Coordinate with other members of the corporate Security team on topics such as event and executive protection, investigations, prototype protection, crisis response, polices and standards development, etc.. . Develop, track, and control the Plant Security and Fire Protection investment and annual operating budgets.. . Utilizing JIRA, document, measure, and clearly communicate Security and Fire Protection goals, objectives, incidents, and performance to both Security and Plant leadership.. . Represent Security in relevant internal and external committees, working groups, associations, etc.. . . Location & Travel Expectations. :. . . This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, SC, and requires regular attendance at the manufacturing facility.. . The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly including inspecting service positions and respond after-hours. . . Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Fire Protection, or a related field. Relevant certificates or equivalent work experience will also be considered.. . A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in security and fire protection, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.. . Ability to work and take decisions independently, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.. . In-depth knowledge of security principles, fire prevention, and emergency response protocols. Basic knowledge of architectural and engineering design drawings.. . Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and programs, ideally within a large-scale industrial environment.. . Experience in managing service contracts with an emphasis on scopes of work, Service performance auditing, procurement practices, and invoice auditing.. . Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and contractors.. . Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.. . Familiarity with security and fire protection technologies, including access control systems, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and fire suppression systems.. . Experience in conducting security investigations and preparing detailed reports.. .
