We’re seeking an experienced Senior UX Researcher to join our cross-functional team supporting digital products for Veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). You’ll work alongside engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure product decisions are grounded in user needs and informed by data. This role requires hands-on research expertise, strong collaboration skills, and experience in government contracting.. . What you’ll do:. . . Identify appropriate research methods to answer key questions based on project goals, user needs, and technical or policy constraints.. . Design and conduct research using qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing, A/B testing).. . Plan and lead both discovery and evaluative research across the product lifecycle.. . Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights that inform design, development, and product strategy.. . Collaborate with designers, engineers, and the product manager to ensure research findings are embedded in decision-making.. . Work directly with stakeholders and VA partners to align on objectives, clarify research goals, and communicate outcomes.. . Contribute to design documentation and requirements by incorporating evidence-based user needs.. . Review and interpret behavioral and usage data from Datadog, GA4, and Domo, and translate findings into clear recommendations that drive product and design improvements.. . Proactively identify research opportunities and advocate for the Veteran user experience in team discussions.. . . What you’ll bring:. . . 5+ years of experience conducting user research in cross-functional teams. . Demonstrated experience conducting user research on government contracts, ideally within the VA.. . Strong understanding of mobile-first design principles.. . Experience with design systems and reusable component libraries.. . Proficient with tools such as Figma and Mural for collaboration and design.. . Comfortable navigating GitHub for collaborating with engineering teams.. . Experience working in Agile development environments.. . Deep familiarity with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG (a11y) compliance.. .
