T. he Software Project Manager will ensure high-quality, timely, on-budget delivery of software that meets client expectations. The SPM will liaise closely with the Data Science and Web Management Teams to ensure a seamless provision of data capture, analytics and visualization products and services in support of the FEWS NET mission. . . The responsibilities for the position include:. . Manage the software development teams and processes (70%):. . . Run an Agile software development process using aligned Sprints across multiple teams of software developers.. . Track key deliverables to ensure timely execution.. . Mentor software development teams in Agile approaches and best practices for requirements definition, time estimation, coding, testing, version control and documentation.. . Monitor compliance and implement performance metrics.. . Manage the product backlog and feature requests, both from within AIR and from clients.. . . Ensure continuous client satisfaction with the product (15%):. . . Develop feedback mechanisms.. . Identify and evaluate emerging use-cases, user stories and feature requests.. . Support specification and SLA development processes.. . Implement user acceptance testing processes.. . Ensure successful and timely client demos.. . Establish performance monitoring criteria, design and manage monitoring systems.. . Report as required on project performance both internally and to clients, including producing regular monthly internal status reports, and quarterly progress reports for the client.. . . Manage help and software documentation processes (15%):. . . Oversee help desk and user documentation services for projects.. . Ensure that user manuals/ help documentation / videos are clear, useful and up to date.. . Ensure help desk feedback is incorporated in production workflows.. . Liaise with communications to ensure high quality content and presentation.. . The Software Project Manager will also work on other projects as assigned.. . . . Qualifications:. . Under the direction of the Data Platform Manager, this mid-level support staff provides technical support and development of the Hub's software development functions for the FEWS NET Data Platform. The following minimum skills, education and experience requirements are below:. . Education, Knowledge, and Experience:. . . Master’s with at least 6 years of relevant experience, . or. . Bachelor’s with at least 8 years of relevant experience.. . Experience managing complex software development projects that have separate front end and back-end components, preferably using either Django and/or React.. . Proven expertise in Agile software development methodologies and project management practices.. . Demonstrated ability to exercise sound technical judgment in complex software development environments.. . . Skills:. . . Expert knowledge and/or certification in Scrum / Agile software development processes.. . Expert knowledge of Jira and other Atlassian tools.. .
