We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join us in building and evolving on the Notability web app. You’ll mentor junior developers, foster a culture of continuous learning across levels, drive innovation within the web app team, and collaborate closely with other teams at Notability.. . Your responsibilities. . . Write stable, readable, extensible, testable code . . Apply technical skill toward efficient & stable user experience. . Jump into unfamiliar areas to solve tough problems. . Participate in technical discussions and decision-making on our web app, through the ongoing beta, and on into continuous improvement . . Operate with respect for the ideas, victories, mistakes, and time of your collaborators. . Mentor other developers in technical and interpersonal development. . Balance product & technology needs through active & open collaboration. . . Requirements. . . 5+ years of professional software development experience. . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. . Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript development. . Experience with async/await, remote APIs, and state management best practices. . Familiarity with modern, efficient approaches to styling and layout. . Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques. . Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. . Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. . Experience breaking down large bodies of work to be collaborated on by several developers. . Ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing. . . Nice To Have. . . Familiarity with Redux and/or Redux Toolkit. . Experience working on real-time rendering applications. . Experience working with high-content, low-latency, client-server applications.. . Experience with web animations, advanced CSS, or rendering engines like Three.js or PixiJS. . . For this position we are targeting a base pay between $160,000-$240,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.. This role follows a hybrid model, with a minimum of two days onsite at our downtown San Francisco office and flexibility to work remotely from home the rest of the week.. . How We Work. .
