This position is responsible for the oversight of Zevia’s co-pack manufacturing locations. The responsibilities include managing the co-packer relationships, ensuring adherence to Zevia’s procedures and standards including manufacturing, quality, sanitation, warehousing, inventory, product launches, packaging, capabilities, and raw materials. This role will work with all affected and influencing disciplines for the managing, developing, and implementing standard procedures and best practices. . . What You Will Do. . Manage the collaboration of Zevia and co-packer parties for certification runs best practice opportunities and new product runs at existing co-packers and suppliers. On-board co-packers and assist with Zevia standards and best practices training. Evaluate co-packer qualifications, equipment capabilities, and needs. Facilitate and support the participation in TRP (track, rank, publish) process through presentations and working side by side with the co-packers for their quality and manufacturing performance. Included will be waste, changeovers, equipment performance, batching audits, inventory management and quality adherence. . . Provide plant and warehouse support in the areas of food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, manufacturing and innovation.. . Support initiatives focused on co-packer waste reduction, best practices and productivity improvements to optimize manufacturing cost per case. Focus on areas the co-packer can control such as batching, filling, temperature, air content, CO2 levels, and speeds. . . Support the development and improvement of co-packer programs that ensure adherence to Zevia’s processes and procedures, batching, manufacturing, SQF compliance, sanitation and CIP for completion and thoroughness, audit support for co-packer operations, and tech support for key programs.. . Work closely with all co-packers to ensure exact product specifications and procedures are being followed. Provide mentorship and training. . . Assists co-pack teams in improving quality and efficiency through continual development and coaching of operational techniques that minimize product waste and maximizes product quality. Identify, suggest, propose, and discuss solutions to equipment and procedures with co-pack teams. . . Perform other responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the company goal of providing our customers with cost-effective, premium products.. . Participate in Zevia team activities for developing, validating, and improving processes and procedures.. . Create SOPs for new procedures, as needed. Drive innovation and strategic development. . . Collaborate with Zevia internal teams on new products and co-packer initiatives.. . Provide continual support at co-packers for all aspects of quality and manufacturing to include but not limited to: Receiving, batching, sanitation, production, start up, change over, specifications, cans/packaging, palletization, tunnel pasteurization, warehousing, and inventory.. . Implement procedures to increase productivity and decrease downtime through use of best practices.. . Work closely with Quality to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.. . Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.. . . What We Are Looking For. . . At least 3 years’ experience in beverage manufacturing to include management, quality, production, packaging and warehouse operations.. . The ideal candidate will have experience as a beverage plant manager, operations manager, quality manager, production manager, or maintenance manager with cross-functional duties.. . Continual Improvement such as lean manufacturing or six-sigma, preferred. . Project management experience, preferred. . Working knowledge of high-speed filling equipment, preferred. . Bachelor’s degree, preferred . . Food manufacturing processes, protocols, and safe food handling concepts. . Manufacturing aptitude. . Cross-functional partner with exceptional teamwork . . Organizational skills. . Presentation skills. . Effective communication – verbal and written. . . Supervisory Responsibility. . This position will not have direct supervisory responsibilities to start, but will serve as a leader, coach and mentor for other positions in the department.. . Work Environment. . This position is home-based while traveling to and working in beverage manufacturing facilities.. . This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.. . Physical Demands. .
