Accounting Associate Contractor. . Reports to: . Chief Financial Officer. . Location: . Remote (PST/EST working hours preferred). . Role Overview. . We're seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Contractor to support our rapidly scaling FinTech operations. In this role, you'll handle essential day-to-day accounting functions while supporting our finance team with reconciliations and month-end close activities. You'll work directly with our CFO, gaining valuable exposure to the innovative intersection of traditional finance and blockchain technology.. . Key Responsibilities. . . Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, vendor management, and payment coordination. . Perform accurate and timely data entry for financial transactions across multiple systems. . Support account reconciliations for bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions. . Prepare journal entries under guidance, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments. . Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities by preparing schedules and reports. . Maintain organized documentation and records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. . Support audit preparation by gathering supporting documentation and responding to information requests. . Help identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations. . Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting discrepancies and inquiries. . . Qualifications. . . 3-5 years of accounting experience with exposure to accounts payable, data entry, and reconciliations. . Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles. . Proficiency with accounting systems and financial software. . Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation. . Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy. . Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. . Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. . Good written and verbal communication skills. . Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment. . Availability to work during PST/EST business hours. . 6-month contract with option to extend. . . Nice to Have. . . Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar cloud-based ERP systems. . Background in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or FinTech industries. . Exposure to multi-currency accounting. . Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in financial services. . Experience supporting external audits or audit preparation. . . This is a fully remote position. Must be willing to work some overlap between EST. English is our global team’s common language, so strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
