We’re seeking a dynamic Technical Accountant who is passionate about M&A transactions and project management. . . This role will help shape how the financial and accounting organization operates and partners with the operating businesses. This person will own technical accounting for business combinations and other complex transactions, coordinate the external audit, and contribute to a rapidly growing business.. . This is a project-based role that requires strong organizational and project management skills and is suited for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to anticipate roadblocks, resolve issues quickly and efficiently, and leverage their experience in finance operations and technical accounting.. . Overview & Responsibilities. . . Research and implement technical accounting guidance and related processes for complex transactions, including business combinations (ASC 805), revenue recognition, software capitalization, lease accounting, equity transactions, to ensure compliance with US GAAP. . Manage accounting for post-acquisition contractual obligations relating to acquired businesses (working capital true-up, holdbacks, etc.). . Provide technical accounting guidance and advice on highly visible contemplated transactions that are impactful to the organization's overall objectives. . Coordinate the ASC 805 valuation of the acquisition with our third-party valuation firm. . Lead the opening balance sheet audit for all new acquisitions . . Support the month-end close process by preparing or reviewing account balances with estimation uncertainty. . Own the preparation of financial statements and footnotes. . Key team contributor in the annual external audit. . Establish key control activities appropriate for a private company. . Evaluate and implement new accounting standards. . Consult on impact of new accounting policy changes and advise on the impact on the company. . Effectively liaise with various business leaders and the greater accounting & finance team. . Design, implement, and document policies and procedures. . Manage and oversee GL activity/reconciliations for complex transactions.. . . Ideal Candidate. . . Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. . CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is preferred . . Experience in a top-tier, global accounting firm preferred. . 5+ years of experience with Technical Accounting in an audit firm and/or industry role. . Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting and experience with the audit process. . Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable ERP system a plus. . Demonstrated expertise in handling complex technical accounting matters, particularly related to M&A transactions. . Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to lead / drive processes. . Proven experience in project management, with the ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute projects related to M&A and financial reporting. .
