Mainframe Developer. to support a large-scale, mission-critical healthcare claims processing environment. This role is ideal for an experienced COBOL developer who enjoys working on complex enterprise applications while contributing to ongoing modernization efforts.. . The selected candidate will support and enhance an established mainframe application, troubleshoot production issues, develop new functionality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams as legacy systems integrate with modern cloud-based solutions. Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise COBOL applications.. . Develop and support online transaction processing using CICS.. . Build, modify, and maintain large-scale batch processing applications.. . Implement software enhancements, defect corrections, and performance improvements.. . . Production Support. . . Analyze and resolve production issues in a complex enterprise environment.. . Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.. . Support ongoing application maintenance and system stability.. . Participate in production support and on-call activities as required.. . . Collaboration & System Integration. . . Work closely with business analysts, architects, developers, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders.. . Support system integration efforts as legacy applications evolve alongside modern platforms.. . Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and development planning.. . Clearly communicate technical concepts during virtual meetings and collaborative sessions.. . . Quality & Best Practices. . . Develop high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code.. . Follow established development standards and change management processes.. . Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and modernization efforts.. . Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team.. . . Required Qualifications. . . 5–10 years of mainframe application development experience.. . Strong experience programming in COBOL.. . Experience developing CICS online applications.. . Experience working within large-scale batch processing environments.. . Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills.. . Ability to work independently in a remote environment.. . Excellent verbal and written communication skills.. . Comfortable participating in technical discussions and collaborating across distributed teams.. . . Preferred Qualifications. . . Experience with healthcare or insurance claims processing systems.. . Experience supporting large enterprise transaction processing applications.. . Familiarity with legacy green-screen applications.. .
