Position Summary. . . The Vice President of Commercial Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for optimizing the performance and scalability of the commercial organization. This role encompasses sales operations, commercial analytics, CRM strategy, pricing, contracting, training and enablement, and overall commercial excellence. The successful candidate will have deep industry knowledge, commercial leadership experience, and a passion for building high-performing teams through effective systems, processes, and training infrastructure. . . Key Responsibilities. . . Commercial Strategy & Execution. . . . Develop and lead commercial operations strategies that support sales growth, market access, and customer satisfaction.. . . . . Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs teams to ensure operational readiness for new product launches and market expansions.. . . . . Translate strategic objectives into executable commercial frameworks and performance initiatives.. . . . Sales Operations & Field Enablement. . . . Support the sales leadership team with all aspects of sales operations, including territory design, quota setting, incentive compensation, and field force deployment.. . . . . Ensure the sales and field teams are equipped with the right tools, systems, and insights to drive performance and customer engagement.. . . . . Establish standardized processes for sales planning, execution, and reporting.. . . . Training, Development & Commercial Enablement. . . . Design, build, and scale training programs and resources that support onboarding, continuous learning, and skill development for sales and commercial teams.. . . . . Lead the creation of role-based training curriculums, tools, and certification pathways that ensure teams are aligned with brand strategy, compliance, and scientific understanding.. . . . . Oversee commercial data analysis, performance metrics, and reporting to drive strategic insights and business decisions.. . . . . Manage forecasting processes in partnership with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.. . . . . Build a data-driven culture across the commercial team to support proactive decision-making.. . . . Pricing, Contracting & Revenue Management. . . . Develop and oversee pricing strategies, revenue models, and contracting frameworks.. . . . . Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and financial standards in pricing and contracting.. . . . . Partner with Market Access, Finance, and Legal on value-based agreements and channel strategies.. . . . Process Optimization & Commercial Systems. . . . Lead the selection, implementation, and governance of commercial tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva, analytics tools).. . . . . Continuously improve commercial processes, workflows, and systems for scalability, efficiency, and compliance.. . . . . Ensure seamless integration between commercial systems and other enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, LMS).. . . . Cross-Functional Collaboration. . . . Act as a commercial operations leader across the organization, working closely with R&D, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment and execution.. . . . . Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on commercial performance, risks, and opportunities.. . . . Qualifications. . . . Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).. . . . . 10+ years of experience in commercial operations within the Life Sciences industry (pharma, biotech, diagnostics, or MedTech).. . . . . Proven experience in building and scaling training programs and commercial enablement initiatives.. . . . . Strong background in sales operations, analytics, CRM systems, and pricing strategy.. . . . . Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams and commercial infrastructure in high-growth or complex environments.. . . Excellent interpersonal, strategic thinking, and communication skills.. . . . Travel:. . . Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required.. . . The base salary range for this full-time position is $280,000 - $320,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
