Role Overview. . We’re looking for a . Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). who will own the reliability, coverage, and automation of Balto’s testing ecosystem. This role is hands-on, bridging QA and engineering: you’ll write automated tests, improve coverage, and help us continuously deliver high-quality code with confidence.. . You’ll work closely with product engineers to design testable systems, automate repetitive checks, and find ways to make our testing pipelines faster and more reliable — especially for our . Electron desktop app. and AI-powered features. Because of the close collaboration, you’ll need to align your working hours with the US schedule.. . What You’ll Do. . . Serve as . first-line support. for the engineering team, helping to triage and reproduce reported issues.. . Own . bi-weekly regression testing. , ensuring stable releases and reliable feature coverage.. . Identify gaps in our current test plans and . write automation tests. for missing smoke tests across features.. . Contribute to, and improve, our . unit and integration test coverage. , guided by tools like . SonarQube. .. . Design and implement . test automation for our Electron app. integrated with . GitHub Actions. .. . Collaborate with developers to ensure high-quality pull requests and resilient builds.. . Work with AI-powered features to design test cases and prompts that validate intelligent behavior and performance.. . . What You Need to Know. . . Strong programming skills in . Python. and . JavaScript. .. . Experience with . Playwright. for automated browser and UI testing.. . Solid understanding of . Git. and standard version control workflows.. . Familiarity with .
