The Senior Director, Government Accounts implements Definium’s government and public-sector payer access strategy across assigned Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, and other priority public payer channels. This role develops account-specific recommendations, supports launch readiness, and translates clinical, economic, operational, and policy considerations into practical access plans. As assigned, the role may also support Kaiser Permanente and similar integrated payer-provider organizations.. . Primary Responsibilities. . . Implement government access strategy across Medicaid fee-for-service, Medicaid managed care, and priority public payer channels. . Develop account plans that address state review timelines, policy requirements, coverage pathways, and reimbursement considerations. . Build relationships with state Medicaid agencies, Medicaid MCOs, pharmacy and medical policy leaders, and public payer stakeholders. . Identify and address access barriers, including policy criteria, utilization management, reimbursement, benefit design, and operational readiness. . Partner with Government Affairs to monitor federal and state policy developments affecting access, coverage timing, or payer review. . Support Kaiser Permanente and similar integrated payer-provider planning as assigned. . Collaborate with Finance, Legal/Compliance, and cross-functional partners on public payer access planning, policy considerations, and launch readiness. . Partner with HEOR, Medical Affairs, and Value & Access to support payer-relevant evidence, value communication, and launch readiness materials. . Generate customer insights and market intelligence to inform account planning, launch readiness, and leadership decision-making. . Operate as a player/coach by supporting account planning and directly engaging priority accounts where senior-level access expertise is required. . . Primary Customers. . . State Medicaid agencies and Medicaid fee-for-service programs. . Medicaid managed care organizations and pharmacy/medical policy leaders. . State pharmacy and medical directors, DUR/P&T stakeholders, and public payer clinical decision-makers. . CMS and federal policy stakeholders, as appropriate and in coordination with Government Affairs. . Kaiser Permanente and similar integrated payer-provider organizations, as assigned. . Government policy organizations and external access influencers relevant to coverage and reimbursement readiness. . . Required Qualifications. . . Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. . Minimum 10 years in government/public payer market access, including Medicaid, managed Medicaid/MCOs, Medicare, and/or state health programs. . Expertise navigating state-level policy, legislative, and regulatory processes affecting drug access and reimbursement. . Experience with Medicaid PDLs, supplemental rebates, and state P&T or DUR processes. . Track record contributing account-level insights and recommendations to government affairs or market access planning. . Relationships with state Medicaid directors, state pharmacy directors, or Medicaid MCO leadership a plus. . Working knowledge of public payer access considerations, Medicaid policy requirements, and state-level coverage and reimbursement processes. . Ability to synthesize state-by-state policy variation into clear account and national recommendations. . Experience with Kaiser Permanente or similar integrated payer-provider organizations preferred. . Cross-functional collaboration with government affairs, policy, legal/compliance, HEOR, medical, finance, and commercial operations teams. . People/team leadership experience; willingness to travel, typically 50%+. . Knowledge of relevant compliance requirements, including anti-kickback statute, False Claims Act, and state-specific transparency laws. . . Compliance and PIE-Aligned Communications. . Payer communications, including appropriate pre-approval information exchange and healthcare economic information, will be conducted in alignment with approved company materials, Medical/Legal/Regulatory review processes, applicable FDA guidance, PIE guidelines, and company compliance policies. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure payer planning discussions are accurate, consistent, and appropriately aligned with approved access, value, and launch readiness objectives.. . The starting base pay range for this position is $220,000.00 - $280,000.00.
