The Cloud Storage Engineer specializes in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based and hybrid storage solutions with deep expertise in AWS and NetApp technologies. This role is responsible for building and optimizing scalable storage architectures that ensure performance, cost-efficiency, availability, and security. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining storage solutions across object storage (S3), file systems (EFS, FSx for NetApp ONTAP), and high-performance computing environments, as well as leveraging NetApp features such as SnapMirror, SnapClone, and BlueXP (formerly CloudInsight) for advanced data management. The engineer will develop and execute data replication and migration strategies, implement robust data protection for business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR), and apply Infrastructure as Code and automation to streamline storage operations. A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of a Cloud Storage Engineer. . Lead engineering of state of the art, automated, fault-tolerant, and scalable AWS environments following AWS best practices in standard and GovCloud regions. Engage in cross-functional collaboration to modernize and maintain a cloud platform. Migrate infrastructure and system/application workloads to AWS Cloud including - Rehosting (Lift and Shift), Replatforming, Repurchasing, Refactoring/Re-architecting, Retiring, and Retaining. Deploy and manage storage platforms with appropriate tiering and lifecycle management while ensuring scalability and high performance. Support data teams in implementing pipelines and optimizing data storage. Manage cloud infrastructure with supporting data-related tasks for efficient and reliable solutions. Stay updated on cloud technologies and industry best practices. Advise on the adoption of a cloud environment and support its institutionalization across the organization. Qualifications. . . 4-7 years of experience with AWS storage services including S3, EFS, and FSx (FSx for NetApp ONTAP preferred).. . Proven knowledge of data replication, migration patterns, and data protection strategies for BCDR.. .
